A classic show from the 80s is being re-done by Lauren Faust, wife of Craig McCracken, on a new channel in America. This new channel replaces Discovery Kids. Details of it here: www.cartoonbrew.com/tv/here-comes-the-hub.htmlWe don't seem to have it in the UK, so I haven't seen it yet, but with Lauren at the helm I would advise you take a look, even if you aren't a little girl. Fact : In the UK, one of the first 'My Little Pony' ponies was called Blossom Cherrie. Funny how things turn round isn't it. Also, there's a lot on this site about Cartoon Network and how bad it's got over there. I'm scared, I really am. Cheers, Blossomgb.

The site says it's based on the Hasbro toy lines which brought stuff like MLP, it does NOT say it's a remake of said show. And "Blossom Cherrie"? Do I even need to say what's coming to my mind right now?

True. Nor did I then.... my little cousin was into these for years. She's now a researcher now with a PhD in Chemistry so those 'things' as I used to call them did OK by her! There's more about the series here: hubworld.com/shows-detail.htm#panel-6Apparently there's quite a bit of 'Powerpuff Style' humour in it. Cheers, Blossomgb

I watched it when I was younger (shocking, I know). Had some seriously depressing episodes in it, despite the overall sugary, chirpy mood.

I'm starting to question my manhood here. The first part of that episode (first two links) actually made me laugh and generally entertained me.
It's still quite girlish, but it has a certain humor in it that I like. Definitely something to look out for.

Here's the first 2 episode story. I know this is meant to be a little girl's cartoon, but it's attracting men to watch this too. I'm suddenly feeling uneasy about this, so I think I'll pass...

Okay, watched the first two episodes and I still think this show has a certain charm to it. I think I'll keep an eye on any future episodes as well.
I'm a big fan of RPGs and this definitely has a feel of that sort to it, with the whole talk about quests and all that stuff.
Interesting fact: Twilight Sparkle is voiced by none other than Tara Strong.
Oh, and the show's full title is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

I remember I used to watch the G1 My Little Ponies and My Little Pony Tales, though I also remember I considered both series to be quite girly and too cute for my tastes. Still there was something in both of them that made me wanna see the next episode. I guess that reason is the same one as with the Powerpuff Girls: just because the cartoon may be very girly and overly cute, doesn't mean it can't be exciting too.
That's why, right now, I'm actually quite interested in this new series.

Benny Hill remix FTW. Ending was extremely cliché and overdone, though. Enjoyable episode nonetheless. And this is now officially my Guilty Pleasure.
