Hm, the comments raised a good question: who did set up those pranks? The episode started by showing us Pinky as some kind of prankster, but at the same time, I wouldn't hold it against Rainbow to prank her own friend either.
And this show has the same awesome BGM as PPG did. I'm liking it more and more.

Educational material, disguised as a children's cartoon show.
It's cheesy, childish and... well, educational.
And yet, I love it.
Nice little astronomy bit in there (Ursa Major/Ursa Minor – Big Bear/Little Bear – Big Dipper/Little Dipper).
Funny how Trixie couldn't even handle a mere baby. I shun to think what would've happened if it were its mother. Guess this is what you get when you brag in front of two idiots.

More clichés, yet more awesomeness at the same time, too.
Narcoleptic Fluttershy was funny, especially with the accompanied goat sound.

Slumbering With the Enemy, from the Powerpuff Girls? Just taking a blind guess, is all...

Slumbering With the Enemy, from the Powerpuff Girls? Just taking a blind guess, is all... No, that's not it... umm... [glow=red,2,300]![/glow] But of course!! The very first episode of My Little Pony Tales. Similar circumstances. Took me awhile to remember that one.

LOL! OMG! Fluttershy's voice... Well, what do you know... the show's in quite a nice lead right now and only 20 days left before the year ends.

Fluttershy's low voice was very much expected. An old cartoon classic if I ever saw one.
"Beware of the blue-leafed plant". So obvious, yet they all fell for it and blamed it on the only stranger in town.
And I like Applebloom. A mature little sister versus a rather immature big sister.

That does it. I'm taking the plunge. I'm watching this mess. May God have mercy on my soul. I'll report back once I'm up to date. UPDATE 1: Just got through the first 22 minutes, and... I don't think I can do this. It's a cute show and all, but it's just... so... girly. I had sports, boobs, and Dethklok cued up in other tabs, and I was still a heartbeat away from turning in my man card. Coming from a guy who proudly wore his Powerpuff Girls backpack to college classes, that is no small feat. UPDATE 2: Done with the second half-hour. Easier than the first, what with the action and the adventure and the oh my God why is Pinkie Pie singing?! I was suddenly reminded of Charlie the Unicorn, and I half-expect the season to end with Twilight Sparkle short one kidney. But the rest of the episode went okay, even if it (SPOILER ALERT) denied us a recurring villain. UPDATE 3: Another episode down, and I'm finally hooked. It consistently brought the funny, even during the cheesy-80's-sitcom resolution. This is a show that has its priorities straight. Also, Angel the Bunny deserves a spin-off. UPDATE 4: Four down, five to go. I watched this one on The Hub's official site. The video player forces commercial breaks and it's missing the most recent episode (boo!), but it supports the show more directly and I can finally hear the full ending theme (yay!).
