Professor Utonium, Mojo Jojo, Dr. Seymour Saw, and Sunshine set out for the Museum with the weather device. "I've upgraded the wristband designed by Blizza's old technicians for you." Sunshine says to Steve, happy as ever. "Now, you'll be able to contact Professor Utonium via the radio built into his Power Armor. That way, you can tell us when you want us to activate the weather machine and begin the purification of FL-49!"
"I've unlocked the weapon systems that were disabled by Blossom Younger when she stole and reprogrammed the F.E.S. to create Sunshine. The robot should be more than capable of protecting us now." Mojo says. "Powerpuff Girls, your task will be to stop The Great Kai'zhar and prevent the war between the Federation and FL-49 that he seeks!"
"Whether Kai'zhar is slain or withdraws from battle, I can contact the Federation High Council again and inform them that with the renegade mutants defeated, the remaining udds will not object to the Federation's aid and colonization of the planet, so long as the udds are left in peace." Patriarch explains. "With the Federation with us instead of against us, we could clear the ults and gols of this planet with full Enforcer support and the Federation's advanced weapons."
The girls each take turns hugging the Professor. "Be careful Professor!" Bubbles says, hugging him the tightest.
"I'll be all right. Between this armor's plasma weapon, Mojo, and Sunshine, we should have the firepower to make it there just fine." Professor replies, smiling for Bubbles. "You go with your father and stop Kai'zhar."
Bubbles nods hesitantly as she releases the Professor. "OK."
"There's no need for subtlety this time! Follow me!" Patriarch shouts as he takes off in a streak of blue light! Blossom and Buttercup are right behind him as Bubbles looks lovingly at her husband before taking off after them in a brighter streak of blue than Patriarch's.

"Let's do this, honey." Timo said to Bubbles. "The sooner we get this job done, the sooner we'll be reunited again with the Professor."
Timo started flying right behind Bubbles along with the others.
"I hope this plan works." Timo said.
"It will when we're on the job." Bubbles said.

Angel was holding back as Steve was writing a note. 'Sorry we've all left while you were asleep. Stay here until we return. Won't be long.', Steve wrote and placed it in the sleeping B.Y's hand. He wondered why Mojo, who had been so worried about her earlier, was now going into battle without a second thought for B.Y. If it was Blossom, Steve wouldn't be able to do that. Nor would Timo if it was Bubbles, he was sure. Steve and Angel took off and caught the group up, flying alongside Blossom. 'Nearly done, I hope', Steve remarked. Patriach looked at him and his family. He really does care for Blossom and Angel, he thought. 'Should be', Patriach commented. Steve had not commented on the girls ideas or attitude towards Patriach. 'You OK', Blossom asked. 'Yes. I left a note for B.Y. asking her to stay put if she wakes.', Steve told her. Typical Steve, Blossom thought. Thinks of everyone and everything. What would he be thinking about all this, Blossom wondered. Steve answered her question. 'I think we should go and talk to Kia-Zhar', he told her. 'We've got the robots as back-up if needed but he claims to be an Udd of honour. Let's give him a chance.' Blossom looked across at him. 'What was he like?', she asked. 'Powerful but cautious. Can't blame him. If the Federation have tricked Patriach then they may have tricked Kai-Zhar too. We don't condone killing, but we don't know the full story as to why.' Blossom nodded. Angel was interested but stayed quiet. 'But he killed their Ambassador', Patriach replied. 'And if I hadn't stayed outside that VR chamber, you'ld be stuck in there', Steve replied. 'Why populate a planet if there are already people on it wanting to make a go of it? That's asking for war and with the Federation's superior weapons there would only be one winner. Look, we kill the really evil mutants of course and clean up the planet, but that's about as far as it goes. The Udd's live here, let them decide. There's something fishy somewhere in this federation. Do they have to join it??'
Cheers,

Patriarch leads the Powerpuff Girls, Steve, Timo, and Angel to the hill overlooking the Fortress, where The Great Kai'zhar and his army have emerged from the castle, their weapons drawn and prepared for battle. Kai'zhar himself is standing at the top of a sniper platform behind the fortress wall looking out over the battlefield, his arms folded and his greatsword resting on his back as he waits patiently. His iron mask still covers his face, preventing anyone from telling what his expression is.
"There's the landing point." Patriarch says, pointing at the unmanned Federation starships with a fleet of F.E.S. robots on patrol near the hill. Patriarch is the first to land, approaching one of the robots. Each of these F.E.S. units have a picture of an alien soldier's face on their screens.
"Greetings, Enforcer Patriarch. The High Guard is at your service." The robot addresses the Lone Xanocite. "Awaiting your orders, sir."
"Set up a perimeter. Secure this hill!" Patriarch commands. The F.E.S. units get right to work, setting up a small holdout spot.
Great Kai'zhar's voice echoes over the hillside. "The Pantheon has rewarded us for our patience. The Federation has finally sent a real response to our declaration of war. Let's see for ourselves how seriously they have decided to take us..."
"I get the feeling these guys aren't gonna wait for us to finish." Buttercup says, pointing at a group of Kai'zhar's soldiers approaching, armed with swords and machine guns.
"This must be the scouting party." Blossom says, thinking quickly once they raise their weapons. "We seek to talk to the Great Kai'zhar!" She shouts to the two mutants.
Kai'zhar Scout attacks F.E.S. Attack: Machine Gun Defense: Duck
The mutants do not listen; one of them aims his gun and fires at one of the F.E.S. units. The bullets ricochet off the metal hull of the robot, spraying sparks on the ground nearby.
F.E.S. Condition: Scratched
"We're under attack! If these guys want a fight, I say we give them one!" Patriarch exclaims, drawing back his arm.
Patriarch attacks Kai'zhar Scouting Party Attack: Kinetic Sphere Defense: Deflect
A large blue orb of energy forms in Patriarch's hand, glowing brightly as he swings his arm forward and throws it at the attacking mutants! The ball hits the ground at their feet and explodes with tremendous force, knocking the scouts off their feet and sending them tumbling down the mountain, dropping their weapons as they fall!
Kai'zhar Scouting Party Condition: Beat Up
Seeing the scouts falling down the hill, Kai'zhar's dark synthesized voice echoes through the field again. "Good, the battle has finally begun. Centurions, begin the attack. Fight for the glory of the Pantheon. There will be no retreat, no attrition, not for us or the Federation. There will be only carnage; a direct test of our strength versus theirs."
"Those guys were just the appetizer I bet." Buttercup replies. "He'll definitely be sending a real attack wave next!"
"What do we do, Blossom?" Bubbles asks.
"We hold position." Blossom says, watching as the F.E.S. robots begin charging a perimeter force field around them. "Let Kai'zhar send his army at us so we can take them down. If I'm right, he'll leave the fort and come over here personally if his soldiers can't do the job, and then we can talk to him."
"A trial by fire eh? Fine by me." Buttercup replies, throwing aside the laser rifle and cracking her knuckles. "Been too long since I last actually punched anything! If Kai'zhar wants to test us in a battle first, I'm ready to ace his exam!"
"Here comes the first wave." Bubbles shouts, pointing at a group of armored udds carrying swords and shields.
Kai'zhar Centurion (1) attacks Blossom Attack: Gladius Defense: Buckler
Blossom attacks Kai'zhar Centurion (1) Attack: Kick Defense: Spin
One of the mutant warriors raises its sword to strike Blossom, but Blossom reacts faster, spinning and kicking the warrior in the head! The armored udd drops his weapon and falls backward as two more approach.
Kai'zhar Centurion (1) Condition - Scratched
Bubbles attacks Kai'zhar Centurion (2) Attack: Laser Eyebeam Defense: Block
Buttercup attacks Kai'zhar Centurion (3) Attack: Haymaker Defense: Flip
Kai'zhar Centurion (2) attacks Bubbles Attack: Gladius Defense: Buckler
Kai'zhar Centurion (3) attacks Buttercup Attack: Gladius Defense: Buckler
Buttercup flies up to one of the armored swordfighters and slams her fist into his shield, shattering it on impact and sending her opponent flying down the hill head over heels! "Ha! These guys aren't that tough!" She exclaims.
"Speak for yourself, Buttercup." Bubbles says, firing her eyebeams at one of the other centurions, who defends from the crimson beam with his shield. Bubbles raises her arm as the warrior slashes at her with his sword, causing Bubbles to yelp in pain as the blade leaves a minor cut on her arm!
Kai'zhar Centurion (3) Condition - Unconscious
Bubbles Condition: Scratched
Patriarch attacks Kai'zhar Centurion (2) Attack: Shoulder Throw Defense: Flight
Timo is about to react to Bubbles getting injured, when Patriarch suddenly grabs the armored mutant and flies into the air with him! The Lone Xanocite gazes into the terrified eyes of the centurion. "You're lucky I'm feeling a lot better than I was before, or I'd have ground you into a fine paste for hurting one of my daughters." He says in a mixture of calm and collect, and seething anger. "Tell Kai'zhar we want to have a word with him as soon as possible." Patriarch then lifts the mutant over his shoulder and throws him completely across the field of battle! The mutant lands on the other side of the Fortress wall with a noisy crash!
A second wave of soldiers emerges from the Fortress and runs to the foot of the hill, aiming their assault rifles at the heroes and opening fire, but the bullets are deflected by an invisible barrier!
"The shield is up, Enforcer Patriarch. It is currently at full power." One of the F.E.S. units says.
"Good work. Convert all weapon energy toward maintaining the shield; I don't want any casualties on either side." Patriarch commands the F.E.S. robots.
The soldiers outside the force field empty their weapons on it, then reload, then empty their clips on the shield again before returning to the Fotress.
"Shields have held and are at full power." The robotic sentry reports to Patriarch.
"Did we win?" Bubbles asks.
The Great Kai'zhar's voice echoes across the field again. "I am impressed with your strength so far, yet confused that you would seek to defeat me with words instead. None from the Federation could have made it this far. Let us see how you fare against a true challenge first. If you survive, you will have proven your strength as warriors and I will hear you out; I swear this upon my honor and my faith in the Pantheon."
A large glowing ult dressed in combat armor emerges from Kai'zhar's fortress. Even from the long distance it is currently at and from behind the F.E.S. generated force field, the wristband begins to buzz angrily, signaling that this particular ult is brimming with Radiation X!

Steve looked at the wristband when it started to make a buzzing sound, then at the source of the radiation. There's no way that anyone in our group could face that head on. he thought. He looked at the situation before him and wondered briefly if this really was worth it. 'Take those two beat up soldiers and come down behind the hill', he shouted. 'The robots can handle that but it will kill us!'. He took one of the wounded soldiers and ushered everybody down the other side of the hill. Patriach looked at him and asked what the heck he was doing. 'You don't win a battle by retreating!'. 'One of you get that other soldier. We're not retreating, we're finding another way into the castle.' Blossom looked at him. 'What other way?' 'Well, you've got the map of the tunnels', he replied. 'I bet you that every one of Kai-Zhar' guards are outside the castle and the tunnels are unguarded. So, we go into the castle, I contact the Professor and he sets the weather machine off which may finish the radiated beings and we simply tap Kai-Zhar on the shoulder!'

Timo looked at the big ult. "I don't think we'll make it if we leave the robots to stop that alone. That ult will crush them and return to castle before we're there. Plus what if there's a problem at the other end?"
"Then what do you suggest?" Blossom asked.
"Someone has to stay here and make sure that ult and the army itself will stay outside and away from the castle." Timo said.
Bubbles knew right away what Timo was thinking. "Oh no you don't. You won't stand a chance against that monster alone."
Timo looked at Bubbles and then at her wound. He went and pressed his hand against the wound. "I don't intend to fight that ult head on, just distract him enough for you to go to the castle. I'll just make sure that ult won't come near the shield. If it does, it'll break the shield in one strike and we need the robots to keep the army occupied. Plus I can protect myself with the ice shield against the environment radiation and maybe even against the weapons, though it'll be quite useless against that much the ult has."
Timo then looked at the others. "Whatever we're going to do, we have to do it quickly so if anyone else objects to this plan, say it now."
Right then the big ult began to approach them, making the ground shake.

'Well, let's slow it down', Steve replied. In his pocket was the powerpuff rope. In the past it has held many things, even Dark Timo, and it would be worth a try. He threw it at the Ult, aiming low. The rope tied itself round the ult's legs and the ult staggered and fell. The ult tried to get free....

As the ult gladiator struggles to get to its feet, Patriarch steps in front of it, putting his boot down on its neck to pin it to the ground. "You head for the tunnel. I'll finish this thing off and catch up!"
"Are you sure? When he goes boom, it'll irradiate the whole area!" Blossom asks.
"I was created from Chemical X Prime, just like Radiation X. I am immune to it." Patriarch answers her. "I'll be all right, now go!"
Blossom nods at Patriarch and signals for the others to follow her to the tunnels.
Patriarch attacks Kai'zhar Glowing Ult Gladiator Attack: Kinetic Sphere Volley Defense: Flight
Once they are inside the tunnel, a loud chain reaction of explosions is heard coming from the surface, followed by the loud buzzing of the wristband warning of Radiation X.
"I hope dad's right about being immune, or he's going to be glowing brighter than a neon light on a casino after dealing with that guy!" Buttercup comments.
"We can't go back up for him either; the Radiation X levels are off the scale!" Blossom replies. "We're just going to have to get to the Fortress and see if Kai'zhar will keep his promise and talk to us now."
Following the tunnel to the Fortress, the Powerpuff Girls are the first to emerge, followed by Steve, Angel, and Timo. "Hey, tin face! Over here!" Buttercup shouts at the Great Kai'zhar, who is standing at the top of a slope overlooking the now heavily irradiated battlefield!
The Great Kai'zhar turns and looks at the heroes. "Ahh, the Powerpuff Girls have returned. I trust you found whom you were looking for?"
"We found the Professor. That's not why we're here." Blossom replies. "You've willingly declared war against the Galactic Federation, turning them hostile to all mutants of FL-49!"
"My will is the will of the Pantheon." Kai'zhar answers her in his low, metallic voice. "Long before the Federation sent their ambassador, I had received a vision. A vision of war and carnage, of bloodshed and glory. I had once believed this vision to mean the people of FL-49 would do battle with the Blizza regime, but the stories of the Lone Xanocite and the fall of Blizza came to us before his empire. With that, a new test fell before us; to prove our strength in battle to Blizza's strongest rival, being the Galactic Federation. Now, at long last, the Federation sends its warriors to FL-49 so that war may finally begin."
"Warriors? You mean the robots and the ships on the hill where you attacked us?" Bubbles asks. "Those are just their robot guards."
"We set them up as bait so we could come here and talk to you. Your gladiator's death could have killed us too!" Blossom tells the warlord.
"You defeated even my gladiator, and therefore passed the test of strength. Had I known you were working with the Enforcer sent by the Federation and not escaped prisoners as I had originally believed, I would have ordered for your executions the first time we met. Clearly, the Pantheon did not wish for me to know, as you must be the test of strength that I must undertake as well."
"We came here to talk to you, not fight you." Bubbles replies.
"Such a shame. Your strength pitted against mine would have greatly pleased the Pantheon. Instead, you choose to fight with words. Let us hope your skill with weapons is greater."
"If you want to fight them, you have to go through me first." Patriarch responds, descending from the sky to stand face to face with Kai'zhar, who looks the man before him up and down.
"And who are you to come before me?" Kai'zhar asks. "You bear the insignia of the Galactic Federation, yet you do not wear it in the same manner as the aliens who have come here before you. Are you really the only one the Federation sent in their arrogance?"
"I am Patriarch, and these girls are my children. I won't simply stand aside and allow you to hurt them in any way!"
"The Lone Xanocite himself? So, the Federation has taken my declaration far more seriously than I expected, sending the living legend himself to stop me. It makes no difference in the end; the Pantheon has foreseen our victory over the aliens and their Federation. They shall fall just as Blizza's empire fell at your hands, and all the planets who bear their mark will know the strength of the Pantheon."
"This battle has already been decided, Kai'zhar. That's why we came here." Blossom explains. "We are prepared to restore the planet and cleanse it of Radiation X without hurting any mutants. There is no reason for you to attack the Federation."
"So the Federation seeks quarter? Terms of surrender?" Kai'zhar asks, pointing out toward the now heavily irradiated field. "What do you see out there? The roads to this castle are hung with the bodies of those who attempted to negotiate with us before. There will be no surrender. My army will crush the aliens beneath our feet in glorious battle."

'You told me you were an Udd of Honour', Steve stated, stepping forward. 'Listen to us, then if you wish to have a war, we won't stop you.' The Grand Kai'shar looked at Steve. 'You came to me before. I thought you were an honest man. Yet you are a part of this?' Steve advanced, emptying his pockets of everything in them. Tablets, Bullets, The gun, Rope, everything. He then put his stick down as well. 'I have no weapons of any kind on me. My wife and Daughter are here too. Can we not talk?' This threw Grand Kai-zhar somewhat. He advanced and threw away his weapons, knowing full well that Kai-zhar could strike him down. Angel looked at Blossom. 'He's actually prepared fo...' 'Looks like it', she replied. 'Put himself at risk on behalf of all of us'. 'We're ready to dive in if needed, he knows that', Buttercup replied. Steve looked back. 'Hush', he told them. Then to Kai-zhar : 'Well?' There was a pause as Kia-zhar tried to weigh this bloke up. He was either mad, sure of himself or desparate. But he didn't seem any dging a child into this as well, knowing that that child could be killed or see her family killed, was unusual to say the least. 'Go on. But be quick', he said, as if trying to distract Steve. Patriach listened on too, rather wondering what he was going to say. 'First, Patriach here was conned by the Federation too. He didn't think any sentient and civilized life existed here. This bit of misinformation was fed to him by the Federation. He was very angry when he found out about it and those robots are there for your guards to kill. This should convince the Federation to stay away.' 'How do I know this?', Kia-zhar asked. 'He's not wearing a federation bracelet', Steve replied. 'He took it off so that the Federation coiuldn't track him. It's nowhere near this base. Oh yes, this is yours', Steve added pointing to the bracelet.' There was silence from the Kai-Zhar. 'Two', Steve continued, 'Mojo is working with us, because he knows what he'll get if he does not. Imposter is recovering from an operation in Udd City and can no longer see Blossom's thoughts. She can go where she wants. We are ready to purify this planet of radiation and the dangerous monsters it has spawned. The Professor, Mojo, Dr Saw and a re-programmed FES robot are ready and waiting my signal. You and your kind will have a whole new planet and if the Federation come anywhere near, you have our permission to blast them out of the sky. The Federation call this planet FL-49. Why not call it something better? Horizon maybe?' 'But science brought about this mess', Kai-zhar said. 'Science can be used for good or evil. We use it for good', Steve answered. 'You can restore this world?'. Kai-zhar wasn't sure. Steve looked at him. 'Yes', he replied. 'And we'll bring about peace with Udd City as well if you like.' The Grand Kai-zhar looked at him and the rest of the group. 'I will consider your requests', he said. Steve picked up the medicines and the stick as he returned to the group. He left the weapons there as a gesture of goodwill.
Cheers,
Blossomgb

Timo listened as Steve talked to Kai'zhar. Steve's move had made Timo worry as he feared Kai-zhar's believe in "Pantheon", as he called it, was very strong.
The battle in the background had grown louder and Timo saddened.
"This whole battle is pointless." Timo said silently. "Honor and glory... two things I hate. Both make anyone blind to the truth."
Bubbles had heard Timo and tried to talk as silently as him. "Isn't it that why were here? To show them the truth?"
"Yes." Timo thought. "The question is do they believe the truth or the 'will of Pantheon'?"

After some time thinking to himself, the Great Kai'zhar speaks again. "When FL-49 is clear of Radiation X, it will make our planet more desirable to the aliens. They will have to come here on their own, and I will be waiting for them. The colonies under the banner of the Federation have not yet seen the might of a warlord of the Pantheon, only so-called warlords such as Blizza... who was unworthy of the noble death in battle you blessed him with, Lone Xanocite."
"I hope you aren't counting on the ults Mojo gave Chemical X to to back you up and keep the planet safe while you and your army are away." Buttercup says.
"I count on no one." Kai'zhar responds.
"That's good, cause you already know Mojo's given up on that plan. Your guys'll be fighting a whole united group of aliens all alone."
"Mojo's plan to use the black nectar on the ults to empower them was a foolish one; treachery is a weapon one should never rely upon. It saddens me to know that his plan did not fail with his death, even if he is no longer a threat to our world. Our victory over the colonies will be swift, and it will be honest, paid for with blood."
"So what happens to FL-49?" Buttercup asks.
"You speak to me in circles." Kai'zhar replies. "What happens to FL-49? I am the strength of FL-49, and I will prove it in the eyes of both the Pantheon and the Federation's council."
"Even if you go through with the battle and take the colonies, other mutants, if not the Federation itself, would take over FL-49 in your absence. Your army can't hold both." Patriarch responds.
"I had not considered this." Kai'zhar speaks again. "Taking this fortress from the ults who were once here was a hard fought battle. Even now, they seek to take this fortress back from my army, and if they leave for the colonies, the fortress would be retaken by the dishonorable ones who sacrificed their loyalty to mutantkind to Mojo Jojo in exchange for the black nectar. Without the Fortress to fall back on, my army would be left stranded on unfamiliar space stations and planets while the Federation takes our world unopposed.
Perhaps I have drawn too much blood needed here for... this. The planets who are aligned with the Federation are merely celestial bodies that rotate around a star like ours. I will not allow them to become the gravestones of FL-49's mutants, be it quickly, or as you describe with your words, slowly... by attrition."
"Does this mean he's going to withdraw?" Bubbles asks, having trouble understanding their conversation.
"I think so Bubbles." Blossom replies. "There are other ways to achieve victory besides strength, Kai'zhar. There is victory in wisdom."
The Great Kai'zhar nods in agreement. "As for wisdom... there is wisdom in your words, daughter of the Lone Xanocite. I will allow the Federation colonies to come here peacefully if it means a new age of enlightenment for mutantkind. Know that I shall not remain passive forever. On that day, the strength of the aliens will be tested. If their colonies are one day filled with ones such as yourselves, it will be a most worthy fight indeed."
"If you really think this war matters that much, then give it time. Perhaps you will see things differently in the future." Patriarch replies.
Kai'zhar grunts. "This battle would have saved the Federation, set them free in ways they cannot begin to fathom. War would have tested them; the violence would have broken the weak, allowing the strong to arise." Kai'zhar looks directly at Patriarch. "Violence gave you that strength, Lone Xanocite. It awakened you a long time ago, when the emperor left his mark of death upon your body as a child."
Kai'zhar sits down on his makeshift throne and rests his head on his fist. "If I must be patient and wait for the Federation to prepare the glorious battle I seek, then so be it. Perhaps one day, when the aliens are finished securing a future for mutantkind, they will seek me out for their own enlightenment. Until that day comes, I will wait for them here, on the battlefield."

"I'm not sure whether to call it a sad day or a judgement day." Timo said.
"Both, Timo." Bubbles said.
Timo looked at Bubbles then back at Kai'zhar. "Perhaps, but I'd still like it if it wasn't necessary for you to fight the Federation to make that kind of judgement." Timo saddened. "In my eyes this planet and everyone on it have already suffered too much so why make everyone suffer more by fighting on it?"
"Timo, I think that's enough." Blossom said.
"That been said..." Timo continued despite Blossom's order. "... we're all wishing everyone on this planet could live in peace without any hostility."

Steve meanwhile was talking into the wristband. 'Professor?' There was a crackle, and then the Professor's voice was heard. 'Here and ready to go.', the Professor's voice said. He looked at Blossom, who was now the leader again after all. She nodded. 'Hit it', Steve said to the Professor. 'Right', the Professor replied. Then he was heard talking to the others at his end. 'Steve says go', he says. There was the sound of giant taps being turned and a switch being pressed. 'There's no going back now', he said to Steve. 'Thanks.' Blossom looked at him and he nodded. The other issue was staying in here during the rain storm or whatever was going to happen. He didn't know if the substance was toxic to Powerpuffs, but he didn't want to find out. Steve looked at The Great Kai-Zhar. 'Might need to bring your troops in', he said. Better safe than sorry.' 'If the pantheon wants them to survive, they will', he said. 'Patriach, can you get those robots to retreat', Blossom asked him. 'While we're in here, could you possibly tell us about The Pantheon', Steve asked Kai-Zhar. 'It must be important! Can we see it?'
Cheers,

As the weather machine is activated and the purifying storm begins, The Great Kai'zhar leads Steve and the others interested in the Pantheon to a shrine inside the castle. Small statues and portraits of mutants and even a few humans are shown carrying swords and rifles, dressed in all different kinds of armor.
"Even before the Black Nectar War and the rise of mutantkind, the Pantheon has watched over and judged the inhabitants of this world based on their strength and skill in combat. Long ago, the humans of FL-49 formed opposing factions based on their petty differences; things such as what to do with the planet's natural resources, what kinds of animal life were fit to eat or keep as pets, whether or not to send ships into space to collect resources from other planets, and other such nonsense. In the eyes of the Pantheon, it became clear that violence and bloodshed came naturally to humans, just as it does to all living creatures.
Unlike the beasts in the wild, humans were capable of creating and using tools designed solely for the purpose of war, known as weapons. The first humans to take up these weapons received visions from the Pantheon, describing to them the rules of engagement and the rewards for fighting with strength and honor:
'A warrior of the Pantheon must always face their opponent in direct combat.'
'A warrior of the Pantheon must never be afraid of death. Those who spill as much of their own blood as that of their enemies in battle are those most favored by the Pantheon.'
'No retreat, and no surrender. Victory, or death. To die in battle with honor is the greatest glory of all. Such is the will of the Pantheon.'
At first, the humans fought honorably by the will of the Pantheon; they would face each other on the battlefields armed with swords and firearms. The battles were swift, brutal, and honest, and those who proved their strength and survived were revered, those who died were honored by their brothers in arms."
"They sound like a bunch of savages to me." Buttercup replies.
"The humans of FL-49 were savage." Kai'zhar says to Buttercup. "Some of them however, proved more savage than others. Those humans who cast aside their honor and the will of the Pantheon were not as strong as the faithful, so they resorted to ways of fighting that were forbidden. They would send ships into space and recover resources from alien planets such as Xanocite to bring here and use to give themselves a dishonorable advantage over those who remained faithful. One of the alien resources they brought here was known by the humans as the Black Nectar of Xanocite. The Pantheon frowned upon those who chose to use it."
"Chemical X Prime." Patriarch replies.
"Yes, those who heeded the call of the Pantheon knew full well of its ability to create life, but the faithless and dishonorable used the Black Nectar as a weapon. They sacrificed life itself to empower themselves as living weapons of war, the ults as we call them today.
Some of the ults would capture humans who still fought with honor and respect to the Pantheon and forced the Black Nectar upon them, changing them into ults as well. Some of those ults abandoned the Pantheon once they had their new power, but a few of them did not forget their honor and died in battle with their captors. Few of the honorable ults managed to carve a path through the others to freedom and rejoined the faithful. They seek redemption, payed for in their own blood, as well as the blood of those who changed them into the monsters they were."
"So when did the war result in humanity's extinction on your planet?" Blossom asks.
"The faithless humans and ults saw that those loyal to the Pantheon would continue to fight them with the same strength and honor the weak had forsaken and would never stop until the faithless were broken. With no victory in sight, the cowards mass produced a new weapon from the Black Nectar, a large and powerful arsenal of nuclear missiles. The faithful tried to stop them from launching the missiles, but when they failed, the faithless realized too late that their actions would result in the destruction of all life on FL-49 as it was and panicked. The faithful calmly accepted defeat and awaited the end, with honor and dignity.
The destruction of the planet did not turn out to be the end of days, as some of the faithless had once believed. The Pantheon blessed those who remained loyal until the end, returning them to life as the intelligent mutants called udds that now inhabit FL-49. The Black Nectar released the toxin called Radiation X into the air and water, which killed off any possible survivors of the destruction of the planet, but as udds, the faithful were unharmed by this toxin, and could even heal and sustain themselves through it.
Eventually it was discovered that the healing and empowering effects of Radiation X were addictive to some of the mutants, and the Pantheon chose to limit its use in such a way. Many of the faithful were changed, becoming too reliant on Radiation X and its power. Finally, the Pantheon chose to forbid its direct use. Those who received their strength through the irradiated air we have to breathe or the water we must drink were not affected, but those who were purposefully absorbing larger amounts of Radiation X for the purpose of gaining more strength were branded as traitors and punished."
"Have you always led the mutants who are still faithful to this Pantheon?" Patriarch asks.
"I became the leader of the faithful when I received my first vision from the Pantheon." Kai'zhar answers. "The vision of this castle, the Fortress. In my vision, the faithless ults had been using the castle as a holdout point, slaughtering the lost souls known as pries for nothing more than their own amusement. By the will of the Pantheon, I forged a great blade and led the faithful to this place, where after a long and brutal battle, we claimed the Fortress as our own. Those who died in the battle for the Pantheon are the most honored. The pries were not hostile and were allowed to stay in the Fortress.
Until the arrival of the Federation's ambassadors, the pries had never shown hostility to anyone. The sight of the aliens drove them into a frenzy, slashing wildly with their claws and biting them with their teeth. Those they would slay, they would rip apart and devour like wild beasts. It was then I received my second vision, the war between mutants and aliens. The pries attacked the aliens on sight, when before they had done nothing but wander, lost and confused. I was told in my vision that this was a sign that the aliens would bring destruction to FL-49 in the same manner as the Black Nectar of Xanocite had before."

"They remember..." Timo began to say as everyone looked at him. "The pries remember what alien technology did to this planet, to them, and so they hate anyone who isn't from this planet and attack them without caring whether the aliens are friendly or not because of their one-track mind. That would explain the ambassador incident and perhaps others as well."
