Steve agreed. 'Yes, the simple minded Pries could only understand what happened to them and where it came from, so they attacked people in self defence. This was made worse by the Ult's hunting and killing them. The Ambassador, if he was an ambassador, if he was that and not a soldier, had no chance'. The Grand Kia-zhar spoke. 'When you came here, you gave up your guns when you were asked to. That move saved your life as my guards would have shot you otherwise. They are trained to do that, and the federation ambassador was taken for a soldier. I didn't have any hand in it as they are my standing orders to them.' Steve looked round at the rest of the group. 'So giving up your weapons saved our lives', Blossom commented. 'We took away any chance of a war by doing so. You truly are an Udd of Honour', Steve replied. 'So if we'd started to fight, we would have met the same fate', Angel remarked. 'You are wise, family of the one of wisdom', The Grand Kai-Zhar stated, addressing Angel, Steve and Timo. In the throne room, among the statues, something seemed to be moving and Steve was trying to trace it by looking round. It was always out of his main vision, but was always there. 'Does anyone else see something moving?', he asked. The rest of the group looked round and none could see it. Steve looked round again and it was gone. 'The Pantheon is here. It's shown itself to you', The Grand Kai-Zhar stated. 'Why me?'. Steve was a little scared. 'On our world, Chemical X has only been used for good. Never in bomb making', Blossom said. 'I know but...' 'Steve, Chemical X saved you when you were really ill. It was used for extreme good in your case, and even now you can talk with most beings rather than fight.' 'If Chemical X was put into nuclear weapons, I dread to think what would happen', Buttercup commented. Blossom turned to her. 'This planet shows us what would happen. We're putting it right as we speak. We are being told to make sure this does not happen on Earth. Apart from us, Earth has not yet reached a stage of interstellar travel. It's a message.' Steve listened to this with interest, as did the Grand Kai-Zhar. 'Praise the Pantheon', Steve said. 'But what is the Pantheon', Angel asked. 'It is all seeing, all knowing'. The Grand Kai-Zhar replied as he took Steve to one of the statues. 'It guides and guards us. It tells me when and whom to fight and who to leave. It welcomes you all, and is pleased that you use the Black Nectar, or as you say, Chemical X, for good.'

"So you let the Pantheon decide your fate." Timo said as he looked at the statue. "I wouldn't like it, letting someone else decide my fate just like that. I like to think I'm making my own fate, make my own decisions thus shaping my life as I want it." Timo looked at Kai'zhar. "I respect your faith and let you do as you see fit with your people, but I at least would be happy if you could live in peace with everyone."
One thing bothered Timo, however. "By the way, Great Kai'zhar, you've talked about udds, pries and ults but what about the gols? You called the pries 'lost souls', so what are gols to you?"

"The faithful see the gols as the abominations that they are." Kai'zhar says. "The same humans who turned themselves into ults through the use of the Black Nectar and Radiation X grew larger in size just as their dosage did. Large, nearly indestructible, the very definition of a 'monster' in the eyes of the Pantheon."
The Great Kai'zhar leads the heroes to a room with a large skull hanging from the wall in chains. "When we first took this castle, a gol showed itself and attempted to destroy this whole area. It took more blood, steel, and bullets to kill it than it did to take the Fortress. It was a great victory for the faithful."
"Perhaps a truce could be called between yourselves and the Federation so that the gols can be wiped out." Patriarch suggests.
Kai'zhar thinks for a moment. "Monsters like the gols will need to be destroyed before the Federation can begin their colonization. Perhaps this can be their test of strength to prove their worth. My army has defeated only one so far, and at great cost. It will be interesting to see if the colonists can do better."

'I think I can help here', Steve commented. 'I carry medicines as well as weapons as you know. Including Anti-Chemical X - A sort of antidote to the Black Nectar.' Blossom smiled, as she knew that Steve had a few of these and unlike the Girls and Patriach, anybody who gets an Anti-Chemical X bullet or two loses his powers. Then it's just a matter of bringing them down, which should be easier with the Chemical X problem solved. She remembered the bullets he had made and improved to get rid of the Dark Powerpuffs, years ago. 'You mean that you can undo the damage that the Black Nectar has done to them', Kai-Zhar asks. The Pantheon had obviously brought them here for a reason, The Grand Kai-Zhar thought, as he looked at the group. 'I think so', Steve commented. 'On past experience, I'd say he can', Blosssom commented. 'He brings them down, your warriors do the rest'. 'How many of them are there?', Steve asked. 'If the colonists can't kill them, then I think we can! If we all work together on it. Your call!'

"I wouldn't mind helping out." Timo said as he looked at Steve. "But I think we're going to need a lot of Antidote X if you want to weaken a gol. Don't forget what we've seen a gol do and how big one is."
Timo looked at the doorway where they came in. "I wonder if the weather machine is doing its job?"

Outside the castle, it is still heavily pouring rain. It is too foggy to travel, even if one were to fly.
"I have an idea." Bubbles says, flying over to Steve. "Can you contact the Professor and the others? They might be able to tell us if the rain is cleaning the planet from where they are. I'm also curious to know if they are waiting at the Museum's water pump, or decided to take the tunnel back to the city.
"The tunnels might be flooded Bubbles." Buttercup tells her. "My guess is they'll stay put until the storm is over."
"Right, that's why we're doing the same." Blossom replies. "I am kinda worried about them, and the others at Udd City. If this storm is global, it could result in mass flooding in more than just the tunnels."
"Even if we are all washed away by the cleansing waters you have gifted our world with, this is what was needed most." The Great Kai'zhar says. "After over half a century since its initial 'death', our planet will finally be reborn."
"It will still take time for new plants and trees to grow on their own." Patriarch mentions. Kai'zhar nods in agreement.
"The Galactic Federation will no doubt bring the combined technology of the multiple worlds they control to speed the process along. As it will mean new life for our planet, I will allow this." The Great Kai'zhar turns to Patriarch. "What will you do now, Lone Xanocite? With the planet being cleansed of Radiation X and the planet ready for colonization, your mission is complete, is it not?"
"I'll have to give the High Council a debriefing to explain the situation. With the planet ready for colonization, I will let them know what to bring to help increase plant growth, and inform them on the new situation with the mutants. The Enforcers can aid in clearing out the remaining ults and gols that the storm might not, but I will also have to let the Council know about Udd City and the Fortress."
"Tell them the udds in the city will welcome their aid, but that the ones in the Fortress will be unable to see them." Kai'zhar speaks. "When the storm is over, my soldiers will find the remaining pries and lead them here. They will be kept from knowing of the alien presence and therefore will not stalk or attack them, but my army and I will not be able to leave the Fortress after this. Until a time when the pries can find their lost minds or their forgiveness for the damage caused in the past, they will stay here under the watch and protection of the faithful."

'If that is the Pantheon's wish then I will make sure any colonists don't come near', Steve said as he looked at Patriach. 'How about the others', Angel asked. 'We're all worried.' Steve spoke into the unit on his wrist. 'Professor, are you there?' The unit crackled for a second and then the Professor spoke. 'Three of us are here, one went outside to see what was happening out there.' 'Who?', Blossom asked. The unit was powerful enough to pick up her question. 'Dr Saw. We told him not to, but he said he'd be careful.' The group looked at Steve as the unit relayed the Professor's words. 'The rest of you stay there.', Steve told them. 'If he comes back, then tell us what he found. Don't go after him, especially if it's as bad as it is here!' Outside it was still rain and fog everywhere. There seemed to be no let up. 'What is it like there?', The Professor asked. 'Tippling Down', Steve replied. Angel and Blossom giggled at this, one of his Northern English phrases. Thing was, he only slipped into the vancular when he was either very happy or very nervous...

"I hope everyone in Udd City are safe." Timo said with a hint of worry in his voice. "By the sound of it, I think Dr. Saw got worried about the rain and what it might do to Udd City. Do you think we should go and check on everyone?"
"In all that fog?" Bubbles asked. "We wouldn't be able to see anything."
"Maybe not, but we're responsible for any damage this rain might do before it's finished." Timo said. "We didn't exactly give a warning to anyone about this. That might be the very reason why Dr. Saw went out."
Timo looked at Blossom. "You're the leader, Blossom. You and Steve know the best so I'll let you decide. If we'll go, my Ice Shield can protect you from the rain and any... well, almost any surprises we might encounter."

"The Fortress hasn't flooded, so the city could probably use us more right now." Blossom says. "We'll need to make sure the rain can't cause us any harm before we head out first."
"I can do that." Buttercup says, opening one of the windows and putting her arm out into the rain. Buttercup shakes and screams loudly, causing Blossom and Bubbles to panic, but then she stops and smirks, pulling her arm back in and showing no signs of damage.
"That wasn't funny Buttercup!" Bubbles exclaims.
"Maybe you didn't think so, but I thought it was hilarious! You shoulda seen the looks on your faces!" Buttercup says, making a mock panicked face and laughing. "Seriously though, rain's harmless enough. I'm ready to go if you are."
Bubbles goes and stands under the doorway into the Fortress. "I don't see any flooding." She calls back.
"The Fortress will be fine. If you are concerned for the others, you should be capable enough to pass through the storm and reach Udd City to check on them." Kai'zhar speaks.
"I'll find Dr. Saw and make sure he's all right." Patriarch says. "The rest of you should check on Udd City and help them out if they need it. According to the Professor, the weather machine's storm lasts twelve hours, so it should stop in the morning."
Patriarch takes off into the storm in a streak of blue light.

Despite everything, Steve managed a laugh at Buttercup's little stunt. Angel thought it was hilarious though, as she was getting a bit like Buttercup. When Patriach flew off to find Dr Saw, Steve faced the group. 'It's OK for you three, but what about us. Angel is half human, Timo I'm not sure and without Chemical X I can't even walk, let alone fly.' The girls nodded. 'So what...' 'Stick your hand outside like Buttercup did and see what happens', Blossom suggested. Steve gave Blossom the medicines from his pockets. 'Just in case', he told her. Angel was the first one to stick her hand out of the window. She thought briefly about copying Buttercup, but the look on her Mum's face stopped her. The rain soaked her hand but she didn't have any effect. When she pulled her hand back in and it was unmarked, she gave a sigh of relief. Her mum held her close for a minute. 'Thank goodness', Blossom said to her. 'I knew I'd be OK Mummy. Unlike Dad, I am made of the Chemical X.' Timo was next to do the hand in the rain trick and again it had no effect. He dried his hand on Bubbles's dress. 'Hey', Bubbles shouted before laughing at hm. 'I haven't got a towel', he laughed. Steve was very nervous about this trick, as thie rain could harm him. Blossom stood next to him as he took his arm out of his coat and put it outside in the rain. His strength did not fade, but a rash came up on the skin. When he put his hand back inside and into hiss coat, he looked at the rash. 'Oh', was all he said. Blossom looked at it and gave him a Chemical X pill to take. 'You had eczema before as well', she told him. 'Remember'. As the Chemical X pill took hold, the rash went down. He wiped his hand on his coat. 'Keep them', he told her. 'Better safe than sorry.' 'True', Blossom replied. 'Timo, can you do us a shield?' Steve looked outside at the weather and cringed. 'Anyone for tennis?'

"Sure thing, Blossom." Timo said as he was about to create an ice staff, but stopped suddenly, remembering that they were still inside the castle. Timo turned to Great Kai'zhar. "Great Kai'zhar, I must apologize for I have to create a weapon in order to protect us so please do not be offended."
Great Kai'zhar looked at Timo for a moment. "One of my guards did tell me that one of you was always armed, so I approve it for now."
"Thank you." Timo said as he created an ice staff and with it, created an all round ice shield. This time, the ice shield looked as smooth as it should, but the humming sound could still be heard, though weaker than before.
"Timo, your shield." Bubbles said.
"I noticed." Timo said. "It's normal again... almost normal. The radiation level has greatly dropped."
"I guess that means that the weather machine is truly working." Blossom said.
"Alright!" Buttercup said. "Now we'll definitively be safe from any left-over radiation inside the shield."
"Let's move out, everyone!" Blossom commanded
The Great Kai'zhar looked as the heroes left the castle and began to fly to Udd City.

Flying through the air toward Udd City in Timo's ice shield, the heroes spot many of the udds standing around outside, looking surprised to see it raining. Aside from their confusion, the mutants appear to be left unharmed by the rain.
"Well, there doesn't appear to be any flooding so far, considering we're dealing with rain on a global scale." Blossom says. "It also seems the rain doesn't cause any harm to mutants caught outside, which is what we were aiming for."
"There it is!" Bubbles says, pointing at the large building. Most of the rain seems to be getting washed into the tunnels around the building, leaving the building itself in relative safety. The girls fly into the building and find the udds going about their usual business.
"Is everybody all right?" Blossom is quick to ask as they enter.
Ozzie looks over at the Powerpuff Girls. "Everything is fine. Why do you ask?"
"You mean nobody noticed the storm?" Bubbles asks.
"The storm? Oh yeah, we noticed it started to rain, so we did a head count and insured nobody got washed away by the water going through the tunnels. Aside from a few leaks in the roof, we're fine; only Seymour is unaccounted for, and we already know where he went." Ozzie explains.
The girls breathe a sigh of relief. "That's good. I guess the udds here will be fine if the ones outside weren't in any danger." Buttercup suggests.
Ozzie nods. "Miss Younger woke up a couple of minutes ago. She is still in the Butcher Shop, but she's up and about. She's probably just waiting for Mojo to come back for her."
"That probably won't happen until the rain stops." Blossom says. "Although I doubt she would have needed to read my mind to know that. She hasn't shown any side effects to the operation, has she?"
"Seemed normal to me. Happier now that she can't hear your thoughts in her head no more, but that's about it." Ozzie replies.

'Better get back to the Butcher's shop then', Blossom states. The group go to the Butcher's shop and when they get there, B.Y. is wide awake and sort of dressed again. 'Ah, Miss Younger, how are you feeling?', Blossom asks. B.Y. stares at her for an instant before replying. 'Fine, thanks. You could have left me some food'. Steve looked at her again. 'And some better clothes maybe?' B.Y. didn't reply. 'It's raining out there, you may need them', Angel adds. 'Where's Mojo', B.Y. asked. 'With the group that are making it rain', Steve tells her. 'He'll be back when it's over I'm sure.' Steve was looking round the Butchers Shop for something that he was unable to find. As they stood and watched, he went through cupboards and boxes, becoming more and more frustrated. 'What's up honey', Blossom asked. 'Just wondered what passed for tea round here', Steve said, calming down. 'And B.Y. isn't the only one who needs food. I reckon we all do.' Steve got up again. 'That's true', Buttercup said. 'Just not Unscraped rectum meat', Blossom added. 'There's got to be food here. But first, let's tell the others where we are. He called the Professor on the communicator. 'Still here.', The Professor said. 'Is it still raining?' 'Yes, it's still pitching down. Have you heard from Dr Saw? Patriach is out looking for him. We're back at Udd City by the way.' 'No. We're still here in an unflooded area. Are many of the tunnels flooded?' 'I think so', Steve said. 'If they come back, give us a call.' Steve turned to the group. 'I hope they are alright.' 'Yes, don't we all.' B.J. spoke up. 'I'm not sure whether I want to go off with Mojo again. The peace in my head is great, but will Mojo still really love me now. I wasn't really bad, just treated badly and that is how I responded.' Blossom replied to this, softly and gently. 'You are a free person. If you do stick with Mojo it is because you want to. If you don't, it's because you want to. There's plenty time to decide either way.' 'That's true Sister', Buttercup added as she nodded to Blossom. 'We'll stay out of it though and let you decide.' Buttercup felt hungry too and she rubbed her stomach. 'What do they call food round here', Buttercup asked.
Cheers,

"I shudder to think." Timo answered to Buttercup. "I'd actually like to have one of those Slushed Ponberries. That was almost as delicious as hot chocolate."
"I would like a banana milk." Bubbles said.
Timo suddenly had a horrible feeling and looked outside. "Umm... I just had a thought. Since it's raining so hard, how do you think the gols are doing out there? Because I'm thinking they must be rampaging out there. The Fortress would be safe but if one were to come here to Udd City now..." he trailed off.
"I don't think you need to wirry about them." Blossom said. "They are big so the rain shouldn't bother them much and I do think this rain is making them feel a bit of pain since it's cleaning up the radiation."
"Besides, we would feel if one was coming here." Buttercup said. "The ground would shake."
"I hope you're right." Timo said.

The Powerpuff Girls watch as it continues to pour rain outside, hungry and restless, even as the other mutants begin to head off to sleep. After a few minutes, Patriarch's voice comes through Steve's wristband.
"I made it back to the Museum with Dr. Saw. I found him just standing by himself watching the rain and studying its effects. We now have reason to believe that the rain is severely weakening the ults and gols; that the Radiation X being purged from their bodies is changing them into less threatening mutants."
"That should make clearing out the dangerous hostile ones less of a chore." Ozzie comments. "Good to know Seymour's all right too."
"Ask him if he has any way to get us some food." Buttercup says. It seems that Patriarch was able to hear her on the communicator and responds.
"I haven't brought any food myself, but I could always place an order. I broke my scanner at Dr. Frumapirz's lab, but Sunshine can contact the nearest colony and transmit the coordinates of Udd City and send you something."
A half hour later, the sound of a small starship engine is heard just outside. Bubbles goes to answer the door, seeing a tall lanky alien with orange skin and long blond hair.
"Uhh, hi. I got an extra large cheese pizza from the Rezulo Quarnum colony here for uhh, the Powderpuff Girls?" The alien says in a surfer accent. "Is this the right planet?"
"Oh! Thank you, and it's Powerpuff, no D." Bubbles says to the alien, taking the pizza from him and making sure it doesn't get wet. "I wish we had something to pay you with, but-"
"Naw, it's OK. Some Enforcer had us put the bill on his tab. Enjoy!" The alien says, climbing into his delivery ship and taking off.
Bubbles brings the pizza to the others and opens the box. "I wonder why dad didn't get any toppings?" She asks.
"It's an alien pizza; they probably put way different stuff on pizza than they do back home." Buttercup replies, taking a bite of one of the slices. "Not bad though. Wish we had a drink to go along with it."
