"Alas," Hack sighs when he sees the Powerpuff Girls fly across town, "my only lead." He follows the streaks of light to an oceanside cliff, where he sees the Girls, their lovers (if the chatter is to be believed), and an unknown girl with both human and Puff traits. He watches the group intently from atop the cliff, hoping they would lead him to Blackheart. When Bubbles' boyfriend glances in his direction, Hack ducks down and switches to his x-ray vision to keep an eye on them. Suddenly, a swirl of black smoke forms near his location. Stay calm, Hack thinks. Could be nothing. Could be an opportunity.

"Uh oh, Blackheart told me about this." Violet says, entering a fighting position. "The corruption caused by the Shadow Soul attracts monsters to it. They'll stop at nothing to defend it!"
The black smoke starts to expand as something large and round emerges from it.
"We've faced this giant evil eye before!" Buttercup says, recognizing the monster! "I remember knocking it out of Townsville while it was distracted by..." Buttercup looks over at Blossom, gasping at a sudden realization. "...uh oh."
"I see it now!" Blossom says, quickly putting Steve between herself and her sisters. "You two are NOT doing anything to my hair this time!"
Evil Eye attacks Blossom
Attack: Optic Blast
Defense: See All
With her hair styled normally, the monster doesn't laugh at the sight of Blossom this time, instead choosing to open fire with its ray! Blossom yelps in pain as the beam grazes her shoulder.
Blossom Condition: Scratched
"Well if we aren't going to distract it with something funny, how are we gonna take him down?" Buttercup asks. "He can see everything at all times!"
"Perhaps I can make it see something it does not wish to look at..." Blackheart's voice echoes as she steps out from behind one of the cliff faces. "I will deal with this. Get the Shadow Soul!"
Blackheart attacks Evil Eye
Attack: Gaze of Insanity
Defense: None
The main eye turns its focus on Blackheart, but smaller eyes appear all over the other side of the monster, keeping a watch on everyone else. Blackheart's red eye gives off a green glow that focuses on the main eye of the monster. The smaller eyes eventually turn their gaze on Blackheart as well, looking away from the others. A sound echoes from the Evil Eye that sounds like it is crying out in fear!
"Now's our chance to go down and get it!" Violet exclaims, diving down into the red whirlpool.

What the hell is a Shadow Soul? Hack thinks as he slips out of sight. I don't remember anything like that in my research. But it must be important if these heroes are so concerned with it. Once they handle this situation, I can hit 'em up for more intel. Maybe I can even ask... He looks at Blackheart. Holy crap, it's her. That was lucky. And she's helping the good guys. My work may already be done here.

'Help her!', Steve calls out as they dive down into the pool. 'Can you people breathe underwater?'.
'We can breathe in space as well', Blossom shouts back. Angel follows as they all dive down to the bottom of the whirlpool.
'Where is it', shouts Violet over the rushing water. Angel stays close to Blossom and Steve takes a protective position behind his family. They look round for the orb but don't see it.
'We'll have to go under and look', Buttercup shouts. Violet goes first and they all follow. The powerpuff in them does let them breathe beneath the surface. Bubbles points and they all look in that direction. There is a red orb on the sea bed, They look at Violet as she picks it up and they all break water to bring it up...
Meanwhile, on the surface, Blackheart has the eye monster locked in a grip and crying in pain. It flies off in fear and Blackheart notices them coming up with the orb, but something was emerging above them...

After scaring off the Evil Eye, Blackheart looks down at the red water, waiting for Violet and the others to return with the Shadow Soul. When the water starts to ripple, Blackheart walks closer, when a huge shark with one eye explodes out of the water!
Sharkclops attacks Blackheart
Attack: Bite
Defense: Dive
Before she can react, the monster leaps over the rock, snapping up Blackheart in its jaws before diving back into the water! Violet emerges a second later with the orb, followed by the Powerpuff Girls, Steve, Angel Felicia, and Timo.
"We got it!" Violet shouts, holding the orb up with a grin that turns to confusion as she looks around the rocks. "Blackheart?"
"Oh no, where is she now?" Bubbles asks, a worried look on her face. "We need her to purify this thing before it does anymore damage!"
"I don't know. This is what we came for; this makes no sense!" Violet answers. "Blackheart! Where are you?"

"She's in the water!" Hack shouts from his hiding place. "Some...thing got her -- a monster shark. Find it and you find her. Kill it and you save her."

"I know that voice." Timo said. "It's the gunner, Hack."
"Everyone dive and find that shark!" Blossom ordered.
The Powerpuff Girls five back underwater followed by Steve, Timo and Violet (while still holding onto the orb).

Angel dived too. Steve gave her the bear back so that both his hands were free. Violet held onto the orb as they again hit the water. Steve briefly wondered why Hack didn't join them. Just some Joseph looking for a manger, he thought.
Where is it, everyone wondered. Steve made sure his stick was loaded and kept his family close as he looked round. He couldn't see it, and all the time Blackheart was trapped inside it, and he wondered how long she had. He made sure that Violet had a firm hold of the orb. Then he felt a tap on this shoulder. He turned to face Blossom and she was nodding to Angel. She had the bear in her hand, and it was pointing in a certain direction. He went off in that direction, Blossom followed and the rest of the group brought up the rear.
Then the shark sped towards them at great speed. He held up his stick and fired. The Bullet hit the shark in the eye and the next one went into it's brain. The group moved forward as one and forced the aminal's mouth open. Blackheart was inside, but not moving. Bubbles went in and grabbed her and they headed for the surface.
When they broke water, Blossom and Steve started giving Blackheart the kiss of life and heart massage. She's going to need a bath too, Violet thought. In her hand the orb glowed.
'Get rid of that thing for now', Steve told her.
'Where?'. Violet replied.
'As far away from here as possible, Before something else appears. Buttercup, go with her, stash it on the moon!', Blossom ordered them. They took off for the moon, carrying the orb with them. When there, they put the orb in the crater of Picard and quickly headed back to the rest of the group.
Blackheart was not responding to the kiss of life at first. Angel gave her the bear and asked her parents if she was going to be alright. Then Blackheart coughed and started to come round....

Blackheart sputters and spits out water, coughing a few times as she recovers. "Oh dear..." she coughs again. "...that was unexpected."
"Are you all right?" Blossom asks the girl.
"Yes, I think so. Thanks to you all." Blackheart replies with a friendly smile.
"You poor thing; all the color has left your skin." Bubbles comments.
"Bubbles, this is how she looked when we first saw her." Blossom corrects her, looking over Blackheart for any signs of injury. She is surprised that despite being eaten by the monster that jumped out of the sea, the girl had no cuts or bruises of any kind! Not even her gown had been damaged, although she now smelled like salt water and rotten fish.
Blackheart Condition: Perfect!
Buttercup and Violet descend to the rock, having stashed the Shadow Soul on the moon for the time being. Violet is the first to notice that Blackheart is awake. "Hey, you're okay!" She says, smiling brightly.
"Yuck, she sure does stink though." Buttercup comments, plugging the center of her face where her nose would be if she had one.
"Not as bad as that time you refused to take a bath." Bubbles replies, giggling. She picks up Blackheart and cradles her in her arms. "Let's take her home and get her cleaned up."
Blackheart looks to her sides with a worried expression on her face. "Wait! Where is the Shadow Soul?"
"It's being kept in a safe spot for now." Buttercup answers her.
"After your bath, Buttercup can go back and get it for you." Blossom says with a smile, but this doesn't seem to calm her down.
"The Shadow Soul will corrupt any place it is if it isn't purified!" Blackheart tells everyone. "Please, you must tell me where it is!"
"It's on the moon." Violet tells Blackheart, pointing up at the moon as it appears in the sky. "Nothing bad can get it..."
Violet looks up at the moon and gasps. "Oh, that's not good." She says, looking up at the blood red moon in the sky. "That's gonna attract monsters to come out tonight, huh?"
Blackheart nods grimly. "A lot of them. I hope your Townsville is prepared for an all out attack."
"It's not night yet." Blossom replies. "We still have time to prepare. Bubbles, take Violet and Blackheart home. Give Blackheart a bath while you're there." She turns to Buttercup. "Buttercup, you warn Townsville about what's happening. Get the police, the hospital, and the fire department to go on full alert tonight!"
"I'll hurry back as soon as I can." Bubbles says, carrying Blackheart back home with Violet following behind her. Buttercup flies into Townsville and Blossom looks up at the red moon, then at Theo, who appears to be covering its button eyes in an attempt to avoid looking up at the moon. "What about Blackheart's bear? Can that be affected?" She thinks for a moment. "One of us should probably take Violet back up to the moon to retrieve the orb."

Angel looked at the bear. 'Can I carry it back?'
Blossom looked at her for a moment then at Steve. Steve gave Blossom a look that said 'No'.
'No. I know you like it, but we are not sure it's safe', Blossom told Angel. Steve gave it to Blossom and they all flew back.
'I thought putting it on the moon would be a good idea too', Steve stated. 'But we don't know what we're dealing with here and we really do need to find out. How does Blackheart purify them, how many are there, and why did she speak like Him at one one point?'
Blossom looked at him as they landed. 'Her father is the son of Him', she remembered.
He looked at her and Angel. 'The day gets worse', he muttered. 'I'll put this where it can't do any harm', he said, pointing at the bear. 'There's a lockable metal box in the Professor's lab. It'll go in there in that sealed room and the door will be locked.'
Angel looked as though she was about to cry. 'What's up honey', Blossom asked her.
'The bear. It took us to Blackheart and it's hers. Why lock it away?', she sobbed.
'It won't be for long honey', Steve told her gently as they landed. Steve nipped off with the bear and came back a minute later when it was safely locked away.
'Where's Violet', Blossom asked.
'With Blackheart, getting her ready for her bath', Buttercup said.
'Well I can't get her', Steve told her.
'I'll go', Bubbles offered.
'Yeah, go on', Blossom said to her. Buttercup sat down.
'The town is ready', she said. 'What's going to happen?'
Blossom and Steve looked at each other. 'Pass', Steve answered.
Violet appeared with Bubbles.
'Is Blackheart in a fit state to handle the orb', Blossom asked her.
'Yes. Come on we'll get it'. she said to Buttercup.
'Not on the Dark Side Of The Moon is it', Steve enquired.
'Doesn't matter. Just get it', Blossom told them. 'And no more references to Pink Floyd', she told Steve. 'This might be a serious situation.' Steve looked at his watch. Four hours to sundown.
Violet took off with Buttercup to get the orb. Angel sat down as well, a mixture of sadness for the bear and excitement over the night to come...

"Since we still have time, I might as well go back with Bubbles and do some battle practise." Timo said. "I have a feeling we're in for a big fight."
Timo then looked at the direction he had heard Hack's voice from. "I wonder if he wants to join with us too?"
Timo didn't stop to think about it, but followed Bubbles back home.
Back at home, just before going to practise, Timo noticed Angel sitting on the sofa with her sad face.
Timo went to Angel, knowing fully well what was bothering her. "Angel, you must understand, that Blossom and Steve are just being careful with the bear. The bear will be out of the box as soon as Blackheart comes out of the shower."
Angel looked at Timo, only to close to her eyes.
Timo felt like he should just leave Angel alone. It wasn't like he knew what she was feeling so he continued towards the battle room to practise.
"I hope Blossom and Steve truly have raised her well, because tonight, we'll need everyone in the field, including Angel." Timo thought.

Hack leaves the scene along with everyone else and heads to his usual weapons supplier, Fort McCracken. If I'm gonna get close to the Voidbringer, he thinks, I'll need some heavy firepower to fight off all these creatures.
He arrives at the fort and scans the area. There's too many of 'em. I won't be able to rely on stealth. I'll have to use speed. He picks up a small rock from the ground. As the old saying goes... DYNAMIC ENTRY! He hurls the rock into the base with enough force to break one of the barracks walls. The soldiers start to scramble as the base goes on alert. Hack darts in, using the commotion as cover to fly to his destination. Soon he arrives at the armory, where (according to his intel) he expects to find the fort's latest toy, the Ground Mounted Ion Cannon. A quick search of the area reveals the weapon to be in an armored cabinet, though to his relief the armor isn't strong enough to withstand being pulled apart by a Powerpuff. Hack opens the cabinet, grabs the cannon and its accessories, and flies away with his haul.
Hack's Equipment:
Ion Cannon, tripod mount, battery pack
duranium combat knife
"You'd think they'd proof their weapons against X-ers," Hack says to himself as he leaves. "Then again, they're probably not expecting X-ers to need their weapons." He starts flying toward the Utonium house. Now that that's settled, I can go to the Voidbringer and maybe get some of my questions answered.

As Buttercup goes with Violet to retrieve the orb from the moon and Bubbles goes into the training room to brush up on her fighting skills with Timo, Blossom goes into the bathroom to check on Blackheart. Wrapping the albino skinned girl in a towel, Blossom leads her over to the mirror and starts to brush her hair.
It is at this point that Blossom sees a strange blue spot on the mirror. Using her arm, she rubs the mirror hoping to wipe off whatever it is. When it doesn't wipe off, she notices that the blue on the mirror is not a smudge, but rather a light emitting from Blackheart herself, most notably from the right side of her face covered by her hair.
Blossom turns around and uses her brush to lift the long dark hair covering the right side of her face... and drops the brush, her eyes widening in fear! She backs away from Blackheart, slightly stunned by what she has discovered.
"What... wh-what is that?" Blossom finally manages to find the words to ask.
Blackheart lowers her head, averting her gaze from Blossom. "Oh, I probably should have mentioned this sooner. My right eye is the one my evil soul sees through. Nanny Morbucks tells me if I keep the eye blinded, she can't control me as easily."
"Oh. Heh heh... r-right." Blossom stutters, her hand quivering as she reaches for the brush. "Let's just fix that right up then." She says, brushing Blackheart's hair as far down the right side of her face as it will go.
"I'm sorry if I scared you. She can't hurt you if I don't let her. That's why I ran away after Violet was hit; I felt myself slipping, so I went somewhere to calm myself and maintain control." Blackheart explains to Blossom, which seems to calm her down. "I will do everything possible to keep the other side of me under control; I promise."
Blossom nods, smiling but still showing some signs of uncertainty. She looks up at a clock in the bathroom. "It's almost night. You should get dressed." She says, slapping her own forehead in realization. "That's right, I put your clothes in with a load of laundry. They smelled as bad as you did before the bath."
"That's all right." Blackheart says, waving her arm. Blackheart allows the towel to fall from her body, revealing that she is now wearing a black nightgown with red lace. "If it is all right miss Blossom, may I have Theo? He must be so lonely locked in that box down in the lab."
Blossom looks confused at Blackheart. "How did you know...? Never mind. I'll talk to Steve and we'll get you your bear."
"Thank you kindly." Blackheart says, nodding her head with a smile. "You're even more kind than Violet told me you are."
"Violet told you about me?" Blossom asks as she leads Blackheart out of the bathroom. "How does she know me?"
"Where she comes from, you're her best friend's mother." Blackheart answers her. "You are with a different man in Violet's reality though."
"I am?" Blossom stops at the top of the stairs. "I'm curious to know who, but it's probably best I don't ask. Anyway, I should get everyone ready."
Blackheart nods and takes a seat on the couch in the living room as Blossom goes to find Steve, Timo, and Bubbles. There is a knock at the door shortly after Blossom leaves the living room.
Blackheart looks at the door, then over to where Blossom left. She looks back at the door and smiles, climbing off the couch. "I'll get it!" She calls out as she walks to the front door and reaches for the doorknob...

'Steve', Blossom says as she finds him in the laboratory.
'Hi Honey. Are we ready to go then?' he answers, giving her a kiss. He had been getting certain things together in the lab. Chemical X phials, various types of bullets for his gun and another little invention of his - powerpuff restraining rope.
'Can you get Theo', Blossom asked.
'Theo?'. Steve was non plusseed for a minule. 'Ah, yes'. Steve unlocked the room that he had put the bear in, unlocked the box and removed the bear. He then photographed the bear, took a 3-D image of it and then put these in the safe.
They came back upstairs with the bear for Blackheart, Angel was with her as he gave Blackheart the bear. 'Here he is. Sorry I locked him away, but what I was told me a little bit scared!'
'Thanks', Blackheart said. 'Angel, thanks for looking after Theo, but your Mum and Dad were quite right. It can be dangerous, which is why I keep it with me. I shouldn'r have left it behind in the first place'. Angel nodded. Nice bear though, she thought.
'We've got another visitor Mummy', Angel said to Blossom.
'Who', she asked.
'I've come to join the fight', Hank stated as Angel went to her parents. Blackheart was sat on the sofa between them. She inched closer to Blossom.
'Glad your here', Steve told Hack. 'We need all the help we can get.' He was thinking other things though, especially as he saw Blackheart edge away from him. 'Where are my manners, sit down', he added, indicating a chair well away from Blackheart.

After training for a while, Bubbles and Timo come out of training room.
"It seems you're still just as good as ever, Timo." Bubbles said.
"You were too." Timo said. "Maybe even better. That's good, because we all need to be in top shape."
Bubbles saddened. "You're thinking this will become another war, don't you?"
Timo looked at Bubbles with sad eyes. "You really know me too well, honey."
The both remembered that one conversation they had done on top of a rooftop.
"I admit, Bubbles, I am worried." Timo said. "Blackheart's presence here means something big is going on. It might be big enough to trigger another war."
As Bubbles was about to hug Timo, they both heard Blossom calling for them.
"I guess it's time." Timo said.
They both went to the living room and saw everyone there, including a familiar face.
"Nice of you to join us, gunner." Timo said.
From the corner of his eye, he noticed Blackheart looking a bit tense...
