Stop the Pure Utopia!/Avatar Angel Z

"The city of New Townsville, Japan! The destruction of the massive ice glacier that threatened the ecology of the city through the use of Chemical Z has caused the unexpected side effect of releasing white and black lights that scattered all over the city. The white lights changed three middle school students into the Powerpuff Girls Z, a young pop singer into a mostly independant superhero known as Harmonious Siryn, and revived the ancient Dragonflight Katana, changing a young museum worker into a powerful samurai warrior!

The black lights, on the other hand..."

Professor Utonium and his son Ken Kitazawa are looking at a video screen at the Mayor, who is pointing out the window of his office. "It's horrible! It's terrible! There's a bunch of monsters fighting with other monsters all over New Townsville!" The Mayor says in a frightened panic.

"Calm down, Mr. Mayor, we will do something about this right away." Professor Utonium tells him in a calm manner.

"Do it Peach! Call for Powerpuff Girls Z!" Ken shouts to Peach, the talking robot dog.

"POWERPUFF GIRLS Z!" Peach shouts, doing as asked.

Fortunately, school has just gotten out and Momoko, Miyako, and Kaoru are walking out of the school together, hearing Peach's call. Shortly after, a large hairy beast with dark purple fur crashes to the ground near them, causing Momoko to leap with fright!

"Whoa! Where did that come from?" She asks.

"Over there, look!" Kaoru answers, pointing up at the battle in the sky. Several monsters bearing the symbol of a black heart on their clothes, fur, skin, or scales are battling with another group of monsters who lack this symbol.

"So this is what Peach is calling us for." Miyako states, nodding as she prepares her transformation belt.

"That's an awful lot of monsters! Good thing they are already fighting among themselves." Momoko states.

Queue the transformation sequence as Momoko becomes Hyper Blossom, Miyako becomes Rolling Bubbles, and Kaoru becomes Powered Buttercup! The Powerpuff Girls Z take off into the air to confront the legions of warring monsters.

"Let's get the monsters with the black hearts first!" Blossom suggests. "They're made stronger by the Shadow Wingblade, but the other monsters are also after them. With the black heart monsters out of the way, the others will be much easier to take out."

"Sounds like a plan to me." Buttercup replies, raising her Daruma Otoshi hammer and charging at the nearest monster, a red crablike demon with white wings bearing the black heart on its forehead. With a mighty swing of the hammer, the crab goes flying backwards into another monster bearing the black heart, causing both monsters to explode into black light. Blossom sees the black light and narrows her eyes, taking off after it by herself!

"Wait, where are you going?" Bubbles asks as several monsters on both sides of the conflict suddenly turn their attention to Powerpuff Girls Z.

"I know where those are going! Blackheart is here somewhere!" Blossom calls back, weaving past several monsters trying to block her path as she chases the black Chemical Z lights. With Blossom out of view, Bubbles and Buttercup regroup as the monsters start to surround them.

"We can't let Blossom go after Blackheart alone. We should try to help her." Bubbles says to Buttercup.

"I can handle these guys. You catch up to Blossom and I'll deal with them!" Buttercup says.

Bubbles nods and swings her wand, creating a long row of bubbles that push the monsters in separate directions, allowing her an opening to fly past them. Buttercup raises her hammer and shouts "Hurricane Lutz!" spinning toward the monsters as they attempt to push through the bubble path, knocking monsters in every conceivable direction! Bubbles spots Blossom chasing the black Chemical Z lights as they are absorbed by a familiar wing shaped blade.

"I should have figured you would try to get involved, Powerpuff Girls Z." Oni Blackheart says, eying Blossom with a knowing smirk. "In case you're going to ask, my monsters are trying to protect New Townsville from these other ones who were created by the black lights I have yet to absorb."

"A likely story!" Blossom shouts back, shooting her hyper yo-yo at Blackheart! The demon easily dodges Blossom's attack and counters with a laser fired from the Shadow Wingblade that knocks Blossom backwards into Bubbles, who catches her.

"If you do not believe me I don't really care!" Blackheart responds to Blossom. "You are too weak to stop me anyway! The Shadow Wingblade knows everything there is to know about you, Momoko. You and your friends cannot hope to defeat me, so leave me alone!"

"Are you all right, Blossom?" Bubbles asks, but the angry look on Blossom's face says it all.

"We're not ever going to give up, no matter what you say, monster!" Blossom shouts back. "We'll figure out some way to defeat you, Shadow Wingblade or not! I for one won't rest until the black heart monsters are just an awful memory to the people of New Townsville!"

"Spare me your silly bravado, Momoko." Blackheart replies, turning away and preparing to leave. "Despite your actions, the monsters I was after have been defeated. I suggest you go home and put this encounter behind you. To face me is to face the full power of darkness... but you already knew that, didn't you?" Blackheart says with a smirk on her face.

"My name is Hyper Blossom!" Blossom shouts angrily at Blackheart, pulling free of Bubbles' hold on her and charges at the demon, who only whispers two words...

"Black Void."

Oni Blackheart disappears into a swirl of dark energy before Blossom can strike her. Blossom gets a frustrated look on her face, turning to face Bubbles. "Why didn't you try to stop her?"

"I'm sorry, but I wanted to make sure you were not injured." Bubbles responds calmly, hoping to settle Blossom down. "She is gone now, and so are the other monsters."

"That isn't going to stop Blackheart from doing something like this again!" Blossom replies, her frustration having reached the boiling point. She then spots a tired looking Buttercup approaching. "Where have you been? If we had all been here, we could have caught Blackheart!" she shouts.

"Don't take that tone with me!" Buttercup snaps back. "There were a lot of monsters between where I was and here. Besides, even with the three of us we haven't been able to match Blackheart in terms of her strength. All because of that metal wing on her arm!"

"Then we'll just have to find a way to make ourselves stronger, won't we?" Blossom asks, taking off toward the ground in a streak of pink light from her shoes.

"It is a shame Momoko is so obsessed with defeating Blackheart. She becomes angry so quickly around her." Bubbles says, nodding sadly.

"One of these days, her recklessness is going to get her in trouble, and we won't be nearby to help her." Buttercup agrees. The two girls descend and change back into Miyako and Kaoru before beginning to search for Momoko, but are unable to figure out where she went. They eventually decide to return to their own homes, content to believe that she will meet up with them again tomorrow.

Blossom has not yet changed back into Momoko, instead having taken to flying low to the ground, muttering under her breath. "If my friends can't help me defeat Blackheart and the other monsters, maybe I'll just have to do it on my own!" She says more clearly. She does eventually calm herself down and changes back into Momoko. "What do I hope to accomplish from doing this?" She asks herself, turning around and starting for home. "They're right; I'm letting this get to me way more than it should have. I'm going to work on my apology to them for the way I acted when I see them again tomorrow."

"You have nothing to apologize for Momoko Akatsutsumi." A strangely familiar voice calls out to her as Momoko finds herself surrounded by a white light!

"What? Who's there?" Momoko asks. A tall figure appears from the light and floats toward her. Momoko's eyes widen upon seeing the winged figure. "You're... you look like me, but you're taller, and older looking!" Sure enough, the figure is a girl with long orange hair like hers, but flowing freely past her shoulders. She is dressed in a bright pink sleeveless kimono tied with a black belt, a short pink skirt, long white socks, and black shoes. Perhaps the most dominant feature of this strange look alike is the large wings made of white light sprouting from her back! "You're beautiful!" Momoko exclaims.

"Who are you?" Momoko asks the glowing being before her. "Are you an angel? Are you... are you me?"

"I have come to help you and guide you to your destiny." The angel replies. "You may call me Angel if you wish. What I ask of you is this: Are you prepared to do whatever it takes to save New Townsville from the black Z-Lights?"

"I am!" Momoko replies, nodding her head. The light flashes and Momoko finds herself standing on top of the roof of a skyscraper, already dressed as Hyper Blossom and wielding her yo-yo! Across from her is Oni Blackheart, holding the Shadow Wingblade and staring back at her with a grin.

"So, you have come to face me all on your own, have you Momoko?" Blackheart taunts. "Very well. Come and face me! Face the full power of the Shadow Wingblade!"

"Where am I? How did I get here?" Momoko asks herself in her head, but has no time to answer as she dodges Blackheart's first attack, a slash from her dark weapon! Blossom takes off into the air as Blackheart gives chase, sprouting her red wings and flying up after her!

"This is the end for you!" Blackheart shouts, slashing wildly at Blossom. "Once I have defeated you, I will defeat your friends as well! Then all of New Townsville will have no choice but to answer to me, and to the darkness I shall bring to them!"

Blossom narrows her eyes. "I'll NEVER let that happen!" She responds, ducking another swing from Blackheart and hitting her in the forehead with a shot from her yo-yo! Blossom presses her attack, hitting Blackheart again and again, tying her up with the string and slamming her into the wall of a building multiple times before Blackheart escapes and attempts to shoot her down with a laser, but Blossom easily avoids the attack and swings her yo-yo so hard it smacks the demon in the head, dispelling the red wings on her back and shattering the Shadow Wingblade!

Oni Blackheart's eyes grow wide as she falls out of the sky. "Am I doomed to loneliness once again?" She asks with tears in her eyes as she falls, disappearing into black smoke before she can crash into the street below. Blossom gasps in amazement at her victory as the white light engulfs her again and Angel appears before her.

"Did I really do it? Did I defeat Blackheart?" Momoko asks Angel, who nods approvingly.

"You have proven yourself worthy. This fight was merely a test of your resolve, but if you allow yourself to accept my guidance, this can also be a vision of your future victory over the one you call Oni Blackheart. I ask you once again; Are you prepared to destroy all of the monsters created by the black Z-lights?"

Momoko bows politely to Angel. "Yes, I am. It will be my greatest honor."

Momoko wakes up the next morning in her bed, looking around her house. "What? Was it all just a dream?" She asks as she gets up, changes into her school clothes and heads downstairs for breakfast. Her sister Kuriko is already downstairs eating a sweet roll and grins when she sees her.

"Morning, sleepyhead!" Kuriko says to Momoko with her mouth full, causing her big sister to look away in disgust. "Gonna catch up on your beauty sleep in class again, eh?"

"There better be another one of those for me!" Momoko says, eying the half eaten sweet roll in her little sister's hands. Kuriko shakes her head.

"Nope, this is the last one! You snooze, you lose!" Kuriko replies, which makes Momoko fume. She goes into the pantry to see what else there is for breakfast, hoping to find something sweet, but instead only finds regular, unsweetened bread and cereals.

"Hey where's the sugar?" Momoko asks Kuriko, who giggles as she finishes the rest of her breakfast with a gulp.

"We're all out!" Kuriko tells her with a big grin. Momoko sighs and closes the pantry.

"Whatever, I'll just have to pick something up on the way to school then." She says with a hint of annoyance in her voice. As she prepares to leave however, she sees something in the corner of her eye. Momoko turns and looks back at the table where Kuriko is sitting, seeing a black silhouette through the roof of the kitchen!

Kuriko gives Momoko a confused stare. "What's wrong now? You're looking at me like I'm a ghost or something." She then gets a sheepish grin, using her hair to cover up some of her face. "Look out Momoko, I'm a ghost! I'm really scary!" She says in her best mocking ghostly voice.

Momoko ignores her sister and goes out the door of her house to get a better look at what she is seeing. The silhouette turns out to actually be a large flying dinosaur like monster about to attack New Townsville!

"I have to stop it!" Momoko shouts, before realizing something is strange about this. "Why can I sense the monster from here? I've never been able to do anything like this before!"

"Your journey has just begun Momoko Akatsutsumi." She hears Angel's voice again. "Go now, and stop this monster before it can cause harm to the city."

"By myself? Shouldn't I wait for Miyako and Kaoru before-"

"If you hesitate, New Townsville will be seriously damaged by the monster's initial attack. There is no time." Angel interrupts Momoko's question. Before Momoko can say anything to Angel, she is engulfed by the white light and finds herself floating in the air in front of the giant monster, already transformed into Hyper Blossom!

"I can teleport now?" Blossom asks herself as she is knocked out of the way by the flying monster! Blossom looks and sees her yo-yo is already in her hands, ready for her use. "When did I transform?" She asks herself.

"Do not contemplate, just attack!" Angel's voice instructs Blossom. Seeing the flying monster taking a deep breath, Blossom acts quickly, flying in front of the monster and smacking it in the face with a spin of her yo-yo, causing the monster to turn its head and breathe lightning upwards out of harm's way!

"That blast would have wiped out half of New Townsville in one shot!" Blossom exclaims to herself out loud. She then smiles to herself. "...but I stopped it. Me! By myself!"

With new-found confidence, Blossom spins her yo-yo as she flies around the monster, tangling up its wings and holding its mouth closed with the string. With a hard pull of her hand, she manages to toss the monster high into the air, where the yo-yo lets go of the monster and strikes it once in the head, causing the beast to explode into black light!

As she smiles brightly at her solo victory, she hears Angel's voice again. "You are doing well, Momoko Akatsutsumi. Soon you will be prepared to destroy all of the monsters and save New Townsville."

Momoko hears the school bell and panics. "Oh no, I'm going to be late!" She shouts, zooming as fast as she can toward the school, but slows down before getting there. "Oh right, I should change back!" She says, remembering that Angel triggered her Hyper Blossom transformation without her even realizing it until she was already in battle with the monster.

Momoko runs into the classroom and takes her seat as Miss Keane turns around and sees her. "Good of you to join us Momoko. You're late you know."

"Only by six seconds!" Momoko replies.

Miss Keane points at the clock. "Actually, you are one hour, two minutes, and six seconds late." She responds knowingly. "I've got my eye on you, so no falling asleep in class today!"

"Yes, Keane sensei." Momoko says, lowering her head in apology, but then quickly pulling it back up so that it doesn't look like she fell asleep again already. As she sits through class doing her work, a thought occurs to her. "I didn't have breakfast and I've got nothing for lunch..." she frowns angrily to herself, much to the notice of Miyako and Kaoru.

Deep in the heart of New Townsville, trouble has started up. A truant officer approaches three loitering boys and looks at them with a gruff expression. "Excuse me, but shouldn't you boys be in school right now?" He asks them. The boys turn around, revealing themselves to be Brick, Boomer, and Butch! The boys look at the officer and chuckle.

"Maybe, maybe not." Brick replies.

"Who's gonna make us go, Jack Wednesday? YOU?" Butch asks with a grin.

"That's what I do. Name's Kuroda Kazuma, and I'm truant officer. What is a truant officer? If you were in school learning right now you might know what one was wouldn't you? I make sure children are in school during school hours on school days. You want to grow up and have a decent job and good pay, don't you?"

"Blah blah blah blah blah!" Boomer says, making a mocking face at Mr. Kazuma while Brick and Butch laugh. Before Mr. Kazuma can do or say anything else, Butch pulls out Kaoru's stinky sock and throws it at the officer's head! The sock bounces off his head and knocks him out before returning to Butch like a boomerang.

"Nice throw! C'mon, let's go show this guy what job we're great at without having to attend any classes!" Brick exclaims. The Rowdyruff Boys Z head into the street, where a driver sees them and screams in surprise, slamming on the breaks and swerving to avoid crashing into them, hitting a street light instead. The boys pull off the broken door of the car and look at the injured driver.

"Oh my goodness! Are you boys all right?" The driver asks, but the boys only snicker at themselves. "I think I hurt my elbow in the crash. Can you give me a hand out of here?"

"No, but I can give you this!" Butch says, spitting onto his finger and sticking it into the ear of the driver. "Wet Willy!" he shouts as the boys laugh. Much to the driver's horror, the boys then begin to drag his car back onto the center of the road!

"What are you doing?" He asks the boys in a panic.

"That was a cool crash! We wanna see another one!" The boys say in unison, using the hapless driver's car as a road block! Several cars slow to a stop instead of crashing, beeping their horns at the wrecked vehicle and the Rowdyruff Boys Z. The boys look on with disappointment at the other cars.

"This is no fun. Nobody else crashed!" Boomer says.

"Let's go find something more fun to do!" Brick suggests. As they turn to leave, they see a bright flash of white light fill the sky, producing a beam directly in front of them!

"What the heck is that?" Butch asks.

"It looks like a beam from Heaven!" Boomer shouts.

"It's a death ray!" Butch says with a hint of panic in his voice.

Brick looks closely and smirks. "No, it's just one of those old hags, the Powerpuff Girls Z."

"I am not old!" Blossom shouts back in response, before blinking and looking around. "Wasn't I just in class? How did I get here?"

"Evil never rests, and neither should you." Angel's voice echoes in her mind. "Stop these three before they can cause anymore harm."

Blossom looks around, seeing the Rowdyruff Boys Z, but not Bubbles or Buttercup. "How am I supposed to take on all three of them by myself?"

"We have no idea who you're talkin' to, but if they left you here by yourself, they must really have it out for you!" Brick says, drawing Momoko's straw and readying a spitball.

Angel's voice speaks to Blossom. "You do not need anyone else's help. Simply allow me to guide your actions.

"Okay fine, what do I do first?" Blossom asks as Brick starts to fire. Surprisingly, Blossom effortlessly dodges a hail of spitballs fired at her by Brick!

Boomer and Butch watch Brick miss repeatedly and laugh at him. "You need glasses or something? You should have got her at least once by now!" Butch criticizes.

"I'm trying, but she won't hold still!" Brick replies, getting upset. "Why don't you try if your aim is so much better than mine?"

"All right I will!" Butch says, raising the stinky sock. "Watch this, I'll get her in one throw!"

Butch throws the sock at Blossom, but the sock is suddenly knocked away by Blossom's yo-yo! The sock boomerangs back and hits Butch in the head, knocking him down! Brick and Boomer both laugh at Butch.

"Nice throw, Dead-Eye! You sure showed me!" Brick says, mocking Butch.

"I'll get her!" Boomer says, readying his own weapon, Miyako's cotton swab. "I've been working on my aim playing shooting games at the arcade, unlike you two who always play those fighting games!" He boasts, but Blossom hits Boomer's arm with the yo-yo, causing him to aim up and fire! The ball of earwax flies over Boomer's head and hits Brick and Butch instead!

"Your aim is worse than Brick's!" Butch shouts. The Rowdyruff Boys begin to argue with each other angrily, until each one draws their weapon and begin shooting at each other instead! Before Blossom realizes it, the Rowdyruff Boys Z have defeated themselves for her!

"That was... that was unexpectedly easier than I thought it would be." Momoko says, finding herself back in the classroom, dressed in her school clothes again!

"Tests aren't so hard when you study beforehand." Miyako replies, not even having noticed Momoko had even been gone.

"Test? What test?" Momoko asks, looking up at the clock and seeing it has been over an hour since lunchtime passed. She feels her stomach grumble. "I haven't eaten all day! I'm so hungry!"

Miss Keane looks at Momoko with a puzzled look. "You've been acting very strange today. Might I ask where you were the entire lunch period?"

Momoko's face turns blue with fear, having no idea what to tell her without sounding insane in front of everyone. "I... I forgot to pack lunch, so I was trying to find a vending machine, but then I had no change, and I didn't get to eat lunch and I skipped breakfast and I'm starving!" She finally blurts out all at once.

After a few blank stares from the other students, Miss Keane, and even Miyako and Kaoru, the school bell rings and class is dismissed. Kaoru is the first one to confront Momoko once they are outside.

"Okay spill it. First you got upset yesterday after the fight with Blackheart, then you disappear during lunch period; your FAVORITE school period by far!"

"Momoko was gone?" Miyako asks, looking confused.

"So where did you disappear to anyway?" Kaoru asks. "I don't buy your vending machine story at all, because I know for a fact you know exactly where they are and you always buy something from them each lunch period."

Momoko sighs, takes a deep breath, and tells the truth. "Ever since the fight with Blackheart, I've been seeing and hearing an angel that looks like a grown up version of me. She's been turning me into Hyper Blossom and sending me to protect New Townsville by myself. I already stopped a giant monster and the Rowdyruff Boys Z!"

"By yourself?" Miyako asks.

"Your vending machine story was better." Kaoru answers. "If you don't wanna tell us what's happening, just say so, but don't make up crazy fantasies to cover it up!"

"It's the truth, I swear!" Momoko says, but Kaoru clearly does not believe her. Momoko looks over at Miyako, who just shrugs at her. "Well fine! If my own friends don't believe me, I'll find some way to prove it!" She shouts, running off toward her home.

"She's acting even more strangely than she did yesterday." Miyako says. "Maybe she really did see something."

"I don't know if I buy into that whole 'Angel Story' she came up with, but something does seem off about her lately. We should probably make sure she's doing okay."

Miyako and Kaoru decide to follow Momoko to her house, when a bright flash of white light suddenly engulfs the area, blinding them both! When the light fades, the two girls rub their eyes and look with an expression of stunned surprise on their faces.

"Momoko's gone!" Kaoru says with a gasp, looking around the immediate area to try to find her. "What was that light?"

"I'm not sure. I hope she's not in danger." Miyako replies. "Perhaps the Professor will know something."

Kaoru nods and the two of them go to Professor Utonium's lab, where he and Ken are already talking with the Mayor.

"A strange girl is shouting into a loudspeaker, ordering people in New Townsville to kneel before her!" the Mayor says. He suddenly calms down. "Oh it's all right! The Powerpuff Girls Z are already there to stop her."

"What?" Kaoru asks, looking as the Mayor shows on the monitor that Blossom is already engaged in battle with Princess Morbucks! "She's already there? How did she even know about-?"

"We should go and help her!" Miyako suggests. Kaoru agrees as the two begin their transformations.

High above the city of New Townsville, Princess Morbucks is looking up at Blossom, who has appeared from out of nowhere in a flash of white light. "Never seen you make an entrance like that before, or show up to face me by yourself." Princess' wild eyes begin to twitch. "You're here to steal my attention, aren't you?" She asks, holding the loudspeaker up to her mouth and shouting into it. "AREN'T YOU?!?"

The loud booming sound coming from the loudspeaker shatters the windows of the building Princess is standing on and produces a shockwave that causes Blossom to stumble in the air, but she maintains her balance and readies her yo-yo to fight back. After a few half hearted attacks, all of which are easily dodged by Princess, she shouts something loud and incoherent into the loudspeaker, blasting Blossom out of the air with a second shockwave that sends her spiraling toward the ground! Blossom does manage to slow her fall and avoid crashing, but she feels her stomach rumbling and looks very unhappy.

"I need a snack, right now!" Blossom exclaims, looking at a nearby stand where a middle aged man in an apron is selling powdered donuts. Without hesitation, Blossom swings her yo-yo, hitting one of the donuts into the air and pulling it back to her. She quickly scarfs down the donut and grins, her mouth plastered with powdered sugar. "That's a little better!" She says, flying back up toward Princess and hitting her in the hand with the yo-yo, causing her to drop the loudspeaker off the side of the building!

"No!" Princess shouts, trying in vain to catch the loudspeaker, then watches as it hits the ground far below and shatters.

"Attack now!" Angel's voice commands to Blossom. With a nod, Blossom winds up and spins the yo-yo in a wide arc, the disc hitting Princess in the back of the and causing her to tumble forward off the side of the building! A flash of light is seen as she goes off, Princess having turned back into Himeko Shirogane just as Blossom hit her, causing her to fall straight down!

Blossom gasps as she hears Himeko's scream. "What have I done?" She asks herself, diving off the side of the building to try and catch Himeko. "Grab this!" She shouts to Himeko as she shoots her yo-yo down toward her. Himeko reaches for the yo-yo, but misses. Blossom gasps and covers her eyes, not seeing as Himeko lands in Bubbles' arms! She uncovers her face when she starts to hear Himeko crying loudly, shouting. "This isn't my house! How and when did I end up falling off a building?"

"It's all right, we'll be happy to take you back home." Bubbles says, trying to calm her down. Blossom floats down to Himeko to check on her. Not only is she thankfully unharmed, but her eyes have gone back to her usual star shaped pupils.

"Good thing you're all right. I tried to catch you as you fell; I didn't mean to-" Blossom begins to say, when she hears Angel's voice in her head, interrupting her sentence.

"Her power has faded. Now is your chance to destroy her!"

Blossom's eyes widen with horror upon hearing this. "What did you say?"

"What did who say?" Buttercup asks, having also arrived on the scene. "No one is here but us and Himeko."

"Until those whom the black Z-rays have tainted are destroyed, the purification will never be complete. Finish her off!"

"No! I won't do that! It isn't right!" Blossom shouts back at Angel. Himeko, Bubbles, and Buttercup look at her with confused expressions.

"Blossom, who are you talking to?" Bubbles asks.

"The Angel... she..." Before Blossom can explain, a brilliant flash of light engulf the area, blinding everyone except Blossom, who disappears when the light fades!

"She disappeared again!" Buttercup shouts. "What's going on?"

"This is freaking me out. Can I go home now?" Himeko asks.

"Take her home and get back here fast. We have to find out what happened to Blossom!" Buttercup says to Bubbles.

Just as they are about to head out, Bubbles and Buttercup hear Peach's voice calling them to the lab. Buttercup heads straight there as Bubbles goes to drop off Himeko at her mansion.

"I'm back. Any idea what happened to Blossom?" Buttercup asks as she enters the lab. Ken is holding a tracking device in his hand with a look of bewilderment on his face.

"Blossom has disappeared completely off the radar!" Ken exclaims. "I may know why. Just before she vanished, there was a really powerful surge of Chemical Z energy directly at the spot where you all were with Princess Morbucks."

"That huge light..." Buttercup says. "Any idea what it was?"

"No, I've got nothing. It's almost like Chemical Z itself made Blossom disappear!" Ken responds.

Bubbles hears Ken say this as she comes into the lab. "You mean... she's gone?"

"I hope not. I have a theory as to what happened to her already." Ken replies. "It is the nature of her disappearance that is most puzzling. The surge of energy is similar to the one the tracker picks up whenever Blackheart teleports using her Black Void power."

"Blackheart couldn't have done it. Her teleport creates that swirling black vortex, not a huge column of white light!" Buttercup says.

"That's just it. Blackheart uses black Z-rays to warp, but this light that warped Blossom is caused by white Z-rays!" Ken explains.

"Just before she vanished, Blossom was shouting at someone that wasn't there. We didn't hear anybody either." Bubbles tells Ken. The young scientist thinks on this for a moment, a look of fear forming on his face. "Could the white Z-rays themselves be the source of the voice she was hearing? How? Why only her? Could it have something to do with her being the first?"

"If the white Z-rays took Blossom, where would it take her?" Buttercup asks.

Ken frowns. "I have no idea. Wherever she is, I'm afraid she may be in terrible danger, and we have no way of aiding her!"

Meanwhile, in what appears to be a completely different plane of existence entirely, Blossom appears in a flash of white light! Rubbing her eyes, she looks around the new environment she is in. The sky is a bright blue and filled with shining white clouds, the ground beneath her feet is adorned with shining crystal tiles and the buildings around her appear to be made of the same kind of crystals! It takes her only a few seconds to recognize her surroundings. "This is New Townsville! What happened to it? Where is everyone?"

"You were hesitant to carry out your task, your very destiny." Angel's voice is heard, not in Blossom's head, but directly behind her! Blossom turns around and sees Angel floating over her, her giant wings of light having changed into a more compact set of regular wings adorned with white feathers. She is also no longer wearing a red bow on her head. "It is all right. I can assume control of Hyper Blossom and carry out the purification of the world if you are not capable..."

Blossom's eyes twitch in shock upon hearing this. "You're gonna what? No way!" She shouts in response.

"If I return you to New Townsville, you must not hesitate again. All that has been tainted by the black Z-rays must be destroyed completely."

Blossom shakes her head. "Some of those people you say are tainted are my friends! I don't want to hurt them!"

"That is why I will assume control. It must be done, regardless of how you feel about the tainted." Angel responds. "To do this, I will require your body."

"You can't have it!" Blossom shouts back, readying her yo-yo in a combat ready position. "You're no angel and you're certainly nothing like me! Who are you? What are you?"

"Who? I am no one at all." Angel says in answer to her first question. "What? I am the avatar of the white rays of Chemical Z. My appearance is based on you, Momoko Akatsutsumi; the first one to come in contact with me, to harness my power."

"Listen to me! What you are asking of me is wrong!" Blossom says, trying desperately to reason with Angel. "Some of the monsters created from black Z-rays are good people! They have no memory of what they've done when they change back! They aren't evil by nature, they are just forced to do bad things and need our help."

"We will help them, by destroying all those who harbor the black Z-rays and ushering in the beginning of the pure world." Angel responds.

Blossom shakes her head. "No!" She shouts angrily, swinging her yo-yo at Angel, but the avatar descends toward the ground, dodging the attack and holding up her arm, producing a bluish crystal that transforms into a copy of Blossom's Hyper Yo-Yo! "If you insist on opposing me, then I am left with no choice but to take control of you by force if necessary. The darkness will be vanquished at all costs."

Angel looks at Blossom with a calm smile. "Will you fight me?"

Blossom glares at Angel, her eyes narrowed. "I have to, if I am going to protect people I know and care about!" Blossom shouts as terrifying images flash in her mind:

Angel standing over Himeko Shirogane as she readies a finishing blow Momoko herself was unwilling to take.

Angel floating over the bruised body of Annie Sakurako, likely after having already defeated her alter ego Sedusa.

Angel striking down Cody Takaaki, despite never having tried to harm anyone as a monster and being restored to his true self.

Miyako kneeling before Takaaki's body, tears in her eyes as Angel looks on emotionlessly.

The last vision sends Blossom into a rage as she flies right at Angel, swinging her yo-yo to strike her, but again Angel easily evades her attack, this time countering with a spin of her own yo-yo. The string wraps around her left leg and with another pull, Blossom is slammed headfirst into the crystallized street! She turns and looks at Angel as she begins to pull on the string, reeling Blossom ever closer!

"You cannot resist, Momoko Akatsutsumi. You and I are part of the same entity. Deep down, you know this must be done." Angel says, but Blossom pulls her leg free and shoots her yo-yo, hitting Angel in the forehead. Angel seems to shrug off the hit and retaliates with an attack of her own, but Blossom flies up to dodge Angel's yo-yo.

"Stop this! I want to save the world from the monsters, but not in the way you're insisting!" Blossom shouts. "I suppose it makes sense you would want me to do it this way; to you there isn't anything else to your existence! You act benevolent, but you're just as ruthless as Black was; willing to do absolutely anything to accomplish your goal!"

"You speak of the Shadow Avatar, forged by the Shadow Wingblade." Angel responds, taking to the sky in pursuit of Blossom, continuing her attack! "The Shadow Wingblade will be destroyed, as will its wielder, the one you know as Oni Blackheart." As she says this, Angel presses her attack on Blossom, rapidly shooting at her with her copy of Blossom's weapon. Blossom dodges the shots and fires back with her own Hyper Yo-Yo, managing to hit Angel twice while only receiving one hit in return.

As Angel moves away from her, Blossom tries again to reason with her. "I still don't even know who Blackheart really is! She could be someone I know; a friend of mine! She may even be someone Miyako or Kaoru or even Asamaya or Ishimaru-san care about!"

"Irrelevant." Angel replies as the crystal in her hand changes form! Much to Blossom's surprise and confusion, Angel is now holding a giant bubble wand!

"What? That's not my Z Weapon!" Blossom exclaims.

"Bubble Champagne." Angel calls out, launching a volley of explosive bubbles from her wand, perfectly copying Miyako's own version of the attack as Rolling Bubbles! Blossom dodges most of the bubbles fired at her and destroys a few of them with her yo-yo, but is hit by a large volley of them that knock her to the ground again, bouncing off the crystals that now line the streets of the false New Townsville.

"Balloon Trap." Angel says, blowing softly into the head of the wand, producing a larger bubble obviously meant to capture Blossom!

"Donut Strike!" Blossom calls out, shooting her yo-yo into the large bubble and popping it before it can reach her. The yo-yo continues forward and nearly hits Angel, but the avatar twirls the wand like a staff and deflects the disc before bringing the head of the wand back into position.

"Bubble Beam." Angel says, softly blowing into the head of the wand once again, this time firing an intense blast from the wand that comes out in the form of a stream of bubbles! Blossom tries to dodge the attack, but is hit in the shoulder and knocked into the side of a crystallized building, bouncing off and crashing to the ground! Once Blossom is able to recover, she sees that Angel has already switched weapons again, this time to a copy of Kaoru's weapon as Powered Buttercup, a Daruma Otoshi!

"No way! I can't even lift that weapon by myself, let alone use it!" Blossom shouts at Angel.

"You said it yourself; I am not you." Angel replies, extending the handle of the hammer before swinging it down in an attempt to smash Blossom, but Blossom flies up and avoids the devastating blow, which only leaves a barely visible crack in the crystal that makes up the ground below.

"Where have you taken me anyway?" Blossom finally asks as she pushes Angel back with her own attacks from her yo-yo. "I know this isn't the real New Townsville!"

"Where? I welcome you to the pure world that we will forge together once we are one." Angel answers her, taking multiple swings at Blossom with the Daruma Otoshi, all of which are dodged.

Blossom strikes back with a flurry of attacks. "This is your idea of utopia? There's no one here but us!" Blossom shouts back, managing to hit Angel a few times. "I'll never help you do this to New Townsville, let alone the whole world!"

"Swing Sonic." Angel says, swinging the Daruma Otoshi only halfway around, firing a bluish green energy blast from the head of the hammer that blasts Blossom in the chest and slams her into the side of another building. As she tries to stop herself from crash landing again, Angel's wings grow brightly, changing from white feathers to translucent crystals on her back! "There is no escape. Observe!"

As she shouts this, Angel begins to hover just above the ground near where Blossom is about to land, surrounded by multicolored lights! As she is about to reorient herself, Blossom is suddenly hit rapidly and repeatedly by an invisible force! The power radiating from Angel knocks her back and forth through the air and into random objects frozen in her crystals!

Unable to control her own body from being pounded on and flung around like a ragdoll, Blossom closes her eyes and swings her Hyper Yo-Yo, hoping for the best. As luck would have it, the yo-yo manages to hit the crystal wings on Angel's back, shattering them to pieces and sending the avatar falling to the ground below with a cry that almost sounded like it was in pain!

Covered in bruises and her jacket and skirt in tatters, Blossom descends toward the defeated Angel, no longer bearing wings of any kind. Angel looks up at Momoko, a look that shows neither anger, hatred, or frustration, but rather a look of bewildered confusion.

"I do not understand. Why have you turned me away? Together, we could have purified the world and ushered in the new age of order." Angel asks Blossom.

"I'd much rather live a normal life with my friends and family without your power." Momoko answers her. As she turns away from Angel, she asks her a question. "How do I get out of here?"

"I will allow you to return to your world. Your will is clearly stronger than my own." Angel replies. Momoko is surrounded by the column of white light. As the purified version of New Townsville fades back into the one she is more familiar with, she hears Angel's voice one last time pleading with her before it fades completely. "Use my power, Momoko Akatsutsumi. Destroy the monsters and the black Z-rays, I beg of you..."

"Sayonara... Angel." Momoko replies, finding herself standing on the streets of the actual New Townsville again.

"Momoko!" She hears Miyako and Kaoru call her name at the same time, turning to see her friends running toward her, and she smiles brightly at them.
