While the others fight the skeletons, Hack keeps the fake Blazer at bay. Unfortunately, the demon is too close to Violet for Hack to use his weapon's more powerful settings.
Hack attacks "Blazer"
Attack: High-Power Rifle Shot
Defense: Block
"Someone get in there and extract the hostage," Hack says. "I'm no good at close range, and I can't take out the demon from here without putting her at risk."

Felicia attacks Skeletal Arms
Attack: Flame Spark
Defense: Magic Shield
"I'll help her get clear." Felicia says, focusing her magical energies into a small spark that flies over the arms holding Violet down. The spark explodes in a plume of flame, engulfing the arms and allowing Violet to spring free and fly clear so Hack can take his shot at the false Blazer.
The high powered blast knocks the false Blazer down, burning off the skin to reveal another skeleton warrior underneath! The skeleton attempts to stand, but the shot has damaged the bones enough to cause it to collapse.
"Blazer" Condition: Defeated
"I can't believe I actually let myself get tricked by that monster." Violet says, hanging her head. "I feel so stupid!"
"Eh, don't sweat it kid." Buttercup replies, tussling Violet's hair with her hand. "This place is one huge mind game being played on us. The sooner we get out, the better."
Felicia casts Dream Warp
"I agree. Now that everyone has been found, we can go after the dreamer itself." Felicia says, using her magic to once again change the environment of the dreamscape, this time to a barren hillside. The dreamer is standing at he top of the hill, looking down at the heroes as they approach.
"What have we here? Are you actually attempting to escape?" the demon asks, chuckling darkly.
"You're going to pay for what you did to us!" Blossom says to the demon.
"I'm going to make you regret trying to trick us!" Bubbles responds.
"If you go back now, I promise to do better." The demon says. "I can make you all much happier."
"No deal! We want out of here, and now!" Buttercup answers.
"I have destroyed your kind before demon, and I will do it again now!" Quintin says, drawing Reflection and pointing it at the dreamer.
"So it is a battle you seek with me? Very well, I could have made all of your dreams come true, but instead you leave me with no choice but to destroy you..."
The dreamer suddenly changes shape to a large horned creature with purple scales and large taloned hands.
"The dreamer will shift forms during this battle." Quintin begins to explain. "Even when you think we have beaten it, it will try to change into another form and continue the fight. It can still be brought down; we just have to do enough damage to defeat it.
Violet attacks Dreamer
Attack: Laser Eyebeam
Defense: Duck
"Sounds good to me. Let's do this!" Violet says, firing lasers at the demon. Although a thick rash starts to form, the monster doesn't appear to have suffered any real damage from Violet's attack.
Dreamer attacks Violet
Attack: Kick
Defense: Block
Holding up a hand to the eyebeam, the demon kicks Violet off the ground and into the air, where she reorients herself and shakes off the hit. "Oww, careful, this guy's got a heavy foot." She comments, rubbing her chin.
Violet Condition: Bruised

"A real kicker, eh?" Timo said.
Timo attacks Dreamer
Attack: Ice Beam x2 and Ice Staff Throw
Defense: Ice Shield
"Let's see it move with it's legs in pieces!" Timo said as he began to fly around the Dream, shooting 2 ice beams first around it and at its legs, freezing up the Dreamer's legs up. Timo then quickly throws one of his ice staves at the frozen part of the legs, piercing the ice all the way through, including through the legs, causing the rest of the ice to shatter along with the legs. However, the Dreamer looked like the attack had done nothing to it.
Dreamer Condition: Fine - Immobile

Dreamer Transforms!
"You won't freeze me in this form!" The monster says, its body changing into that of a bulbous body made of living magma! The temperature around the dreamer goes way up as he transforms, melting the ice where its legs have now disappeared.
Dreamer attacks Timo
Attack: Flame Wave
Defense: Aura of Flames
The new form of the dreamer aims its only extremities (its arms) at Timo and opens its hands, firing at him as though it were carrying a flamethrower! Timo raises the ice staff in his hands to shield himself from the heat, but the fire easily melts the staff and singes his arms and chest!
Timo Condition: Bruised - Burn
"Timo!" Bubbles cries out, flying over to make sure he is not too badly injured by the dreamer.
"Let me try." Blossom says.
Blossom attacks Dreamer
Attack: Ice Breath
Defense: Flight
Taking a deep breath, Blossom blows the equivalent of an arctic wind at the fiery demon, but the heat radiating from its body is so intense that it turns from freezing to hot air before it even reaches its body!
"No use, I might as well be trying to freeze the sun!" Blossom says with a hint of exaggeration in her statement.
"He's too hot to freeze or even get close enough to hit!" Buttercup remarks. "There's gotta be somethin' that'll work!"
As she says this, the dreamer digs its fiery arms into the ground and starts to drag itself closer to the heroes, leaving burning handprints in the ground and getting hotter the closer he is!

Steve looked round at Blossom and Angel. 'Stay close, I don't know if this will work. Quentin, don't lose that sword! Everyone behind me.'
Blossom again looked worried. 'What the heck are you going to do against that?', she asks, a bit of fear in her voice.
He looked at the fire demon, coming towards them. He was nervous, but he wanted a look at the face. He powered up his paralysis stare and hoped it would work. It did, and now they had a stationary demon that was hotter than his last curry. It stayed where it was and gave a squeal.
'Let me go or I'll burn you first', the Demon cried.
'No. This is a dream, and you can't be burned in a dream', he replied, hoping he was right. With the Demon held, he wondered about the next move...

Timo slowly tried to stand up. "Argh! That hurt a lot."
"Be still, Timo." Bubbles said. "Those burns look pretty bad."
"I'll be fine, honey." Timo said as he managed to stand up and looked at the Dreamer.
"I know ice is no match for fire, but I know another element that does: water." Timo said. "The only problem is where can we get water here?"

'Well, there was one time ages ago when I brought home a baby whale', Bubbles told him. 'We needed Blossom's Ice Breath to fill he laboratory with water.'

Hack frowns. "The air here is too dry for a trick like that. But if we dig a well, we should have more than enough groundwater to work with, and we'll have a ready-made pit trap for this guy."

"I don't think we have the time to dig a well before this guy gets close enough to roast us." Buttercup replies. She turns to Felicia. "How about you? Can't you make some appear with your magic or somethin'?"
Felicia ponders and smiles. "No, I don't have any spells like that, but I do know a spell that will help!"
Felicia casts Fire Ward
Waving her arms, Felicia creates a reddish force field around herself and the others. Almost immediately, it seems to be working, the heat radiating off the dreamer unable to penetrate the shield.
"Much better. Let's smack this guy down!" Violet says.
Quintin and Violet attack Dreamer
Attack: Reflection/Haymaker
Defense: Fire Ward
The Sorwin makes the first move, running toward the dreamer and cutting deeply into its burning body with his sword. Violet flies into the monster's face and slams her fist into it, breaking the Paralysis Stare but causing the demon's body to explode!
Dreamer Transforms!
"I know your weaknesses." The demon's voice says as the fire subsides. The dreamer changes shape again, this time becoming a faceless humanoid wearing a glowing battle suit. A ray gun appears in one of its hands, a pistol loaded with duranium spikes in the other.
Dreamer attacks Blossom
Attack: Ray Gun
Defense: AntiPowerpuff Armor
Dreamer attacks Buttercup
Attack: Duranium Spike Gun
Defense: AntiPowerpuff Armor
Although the face of the demon lacks any features, it aims one of the guns at Blossom and the other at Bubbles.
Bubbles defends with Duck
"It's gonna open fire!" Bubbles shouts, dodging the spike as it is fired at her, but Blossom accidentally jumps into the ray as though the demon was able to predict the move she would make! Blossom shakes off the wooziness, realizing that her powers have been sapped!
Blossom Condition: Fine - Antidote X
Dreamer attacks Buttercup
Attack: Ray Gun
Defense: AntiPowerpuff Armor
Dreamer attacks Steve
Attack: Duranium Spike Gun
Defense: AntiPowerpuff Armor
Without hesitation, the demon spins and aims its weapons at two more targets and opens fire!

There was someone missing from the group. Angel was getting angry and as Steve dodged the gun and dragged Buttercup out of the way, she was invisibly flying at the demon's legs, from behind, at knee height. Despite her size, the speed that she hit the knees was all that was needed. The demon/robot was unaware of her until she hit. The humanoid was caught unaware by this and teetered before it fell.
They all saw this and Steve reached into his pocket for the powerpuff rope. This was something that he had made and did not have any powerpuff powers. He threw it and it tied itself round the legs very tightly. The humanoid could not raise itself. Then Angel noticed that in the commotion, the humanoid had dropped the ray gun. She picked it up and fired at the humanoid, The effect was immediate as the glow disappeared from round the humanoid. Stepping away, she fired again. The humanoid was held.
'Now, will somebody please destroy this thing. Pretty please? What about you with the big gun', she shouted, nodding to Hack. 'And Violet, please watch where you're flying in future.'
Steve was giving Blossom a tablet to restore her powers. They both looked at Angel and then Violet.
'Can't disagree with that', Blossom said.

Timo looked at Angel. "Is it me or is Angel starting to show leadership skills?"
Timo tried to create an ice staff, but both his hands hurt and all he managed to create was a small sharp dagger-like ice weapon.
"Timo, your powers..." Bubbles said in concern.
"Yeah." Timo said. "These burns made my arms partly numb. My powers aren't working properly."
Timo pointed the weapon on his other hand. "Maybe I can heal them."
Timo attacks himself
Attack: Ice Beam (weak)
Defense: None
Timo shoots an ice beam at one of the worst burns on his hand.
"AAARRGGH!!" Timo screamed at the pain.
"You alright?" Bubbles asked.
"I will be, but I think I'm out of this fight." Timo said showing his small weapon. "There's no way I can fight with this."
Ultra heated fire like lava was Timo's biggest weakness and he knew it was still damaging him slowly and painfully.

Quintin attacks Dreamer

With his sword, Quintin leaps forward and drives the blade right through the faceless head of the demon's current form.
Dreamer Transforms!
Although the blade cuts the demon's head in half, it takes on yet another form, this time of a large eye with huge tentacles sprouting out of the back!
Dreamer attacks Timo
Attack: Gaze of Fear
Defense: Mystic Stone
"Give in to your greatest fear." The dreamer says, firing a pink ray from its single eye. A shadowy figure bearing a strong resemblance to Dark Timo appears!
Violet attacks Dreamer
Attack: Scorch Kick
Defense: Spin
"I'm not afraid of you!" Violet shouts, jumping and roundhouse kicking the demon, aiming for the eye, but the dreamer raises its tentacle to block the kick, the arm turning to stone as her foot connects!
Dreamer attacks Violet
Attack: Slap
Defense: Mystic Stone
The tentacle turns back to flesh as it swings at Violet, who easily moves out of the way of the swipe, zipping around the demon in a streak of purple. Although the demon cannot catch her, everywhere Violet tries to punch, kick, or zap the dreamer in this form manages to turn to stone every time she connects, blocking her efforts!
Dark Timo ignores the fight between Violet and the dreamer, focusing his attention at Bubbles and the injured Timo with a wicked grin. Quintin steps in front of the two, pointing Reflection at Dark Timo.
"Don't be fooled. This demon is a fake." He says to Timo and Bubbles. "The dreamer is powerful, but it is still a piece in the Black Heart dimension. It knows what you fear, but it can only create a mental copy that cannot surpass its own power."
"It looks pretty convincing to me." Bubbles responds, hugging Timo tightly and looking ready to shield him from Dark Timo regardless of whether or not that actually is Dark Timo or not.
"Step aside Sorwin; they're mine!" Dark Timo shouts at Quintin, but the golden eyed hero stands his ground.
"You can't trick my sight." Quintin says calmly, daring the Dark Timo he claims to be a fake to make the first move.

'Don't look at it', Steve told everyone. 'It looks into your mind and sets your greatest fears against you. So don't look at it'.
Angel appeared by his side as he approached Blossom.
'Why won't this. thing die', Angel asked. Blossom looked at her and Steve. 'Why didn't Hack fire and why does it keep changing shape?'
Blossom looked at them both as they approached her.
'I don't know, but every enemy has a weakness. We've just got to find it', she said,
'Or die trying', Buttercup remarked.
In front of them, the creature was focussing on Bubbles and Timo. Quentin was there too and was egging somebody on, somebody that only they could see.
'They are seeing Dark Timo and they think it's real', Blossom remarked. 'The demon said he knew all our weaknesses and the reappearance of Dark Timo must be their greatest fear!'
Steve wondered about what she'd just said. The demon that turned shape must have fears of it's own. It had never looked into it's own eye, so it's own fears could not be used in the same way. The demon was evil, so good would counteract it. Anything good would be feared by it. He wondered if it was Spectrophobic.
'Blossom, give me that mirror you use with Angel', he pressed her.
She did, but asked him why.
'To make it look at itself. It turned to rock for Violet. Medusa was a Gorgon who had snakes in her hair and everyone who looked at her turned to stone. If we can turn this power back on the demon in this form, we should be able to kill it or put it into a form where in can be killed.', Steve told her. 'Be ready'
Looking away from the creature, Steve stepped forward. It was focussed entirely on Quintin, Bubbles and Timo so it didn't see him right away. When it did and broke it's stare on them, it turned to face Steve. Steve was looking away and the creature saw the mirror instead. It was held by it and saw into it's own mind. Saw it's own fears.
'I wonder what it's seeing', Steve thought.
While Steve held it with the mirror, the others saw their chance....

Timo was terrified to see Dark Timo in front of him, even though his mind kept telling him that Dark Timo wasn't really there.
Despite that, Timo looked Dark Timo with serious eyes. "True or not, real or illusion, I will not run away from you. Come and get me!"

"We knew about the shapeshifting going in," Hack says. "And by the time I got a bead on his last form, the swordsman came in and ruined my shot." He glances at the people fighting the illusion. "That won't happen again. Stay clear!" You turn to stone to defend yourself, demon? he thinks. Let's see how you deal with rock blasting.
