July 3, 2002--nine years ago today--is when The Powerpuff Girls Movie made its premiere in theaters. A pity it coincided with the Star Wars reboot and received near zip promotion from Warner Bros.
It had the working titles First Flight and Maiden Voyage.

I remember seeing this in the theater. I feel so old.
And of course, we still don't have a widescreen release for Region 1. Maybe the 10th anniversary will fix that injustice.

If this movie had done well in the US, I could've seen it in theaters myself. I saw all the posters for it, but when the premiere date came, I saw nothing about it being mentioned anywhere. It was only later that I found out it never made it over here.
Of course, I bought the DVD as soon as I could, but I would've loved seeing it in theaters nonetheless. =(
And yeah, time flies...

I still have a xerox of the movie's storyboard. Over 1700 pages long.
