Is this true, is Butch Hartman of Fairly Odd Parents rebooting the Powerpuff Girls? Lately, I've encountered numerous comments about it that alllude to a 2012 debut.
Anybody?

Not reached me. The trouble with the Interweb is that one person starts a rumour and it spreads like wildfire. Where have you heard these rumours - I'll check them out.

A google search for "Hartman powerpuff Craig McCracken" turns up 2 long threads posted by someone called Derek back in 2010.

An official source on this would be very nice, like the actual station on which they'll air it, the producing companies, Twitter messages from either Hartman or McCracken, preferably both (I take it they both have a Twitter account in the first place), stuff like that. Until I see official confirmation on it, I'm calling this a load of bull, especially since this person spammed half the thread with the same info on the first link I tried.
And even if it were true, I'm unsure of whether or not I would like to see it. Then again, if Craig will indeed take up the writing and the major characters' design (like the Girls and the Boys) will stay roughly the same, I might be interested enough to give it a try.

I cannot see the PPG moving around and talking like Fairly Oddparents. (Tara Strong voiced Timmy Turner, sure, but I can just hear Bubbles' voice as Timmy.)
