The Dark Powerpuff Crusade Finale: The Black Void

'Now', the voice says in Blossom and Steve's heads. They drift forward towards the baby as Black, Dark Bubbles and the Adult Princess Morbucks shrink back in fear. Steve picks up the baby and hands it to Blossom. The light continues to glow all around them as the rest of the team look on, not in fear or awe but in Wonder.
'A baby is a baby, and how it develops is down to the parents', Blossom states.
'And you aren't fit parents', Steve adds. 'All this baby will learn from you is to make people unhappy. It will learn to take pleasure from destruction.'
Blossom looks at the baby before her and it looks up through one eye. 'We can't kill a baby, no matter who's it is, but we can control what it will do and how it will live.', she tells the people before it. 'Banshee and Siryn were born of one of the most evil beings in the universe, but they are good. You, Black, aree bad'.
Black shrank back as the Lord of Light appeared between Steve and Blossom. He took the baby from Blossom and held it. It looked up at him but didn't make a sound. The tower began to shake and Blossom and Steve felt it beneath them, but the light around them took them higher as it began to collapse. The Lord of Light struck once at Black, and he rolled over on the floor in pain, as the tower carried on collapsing around him.
'Go, all of you', The Lord Of Light said to the team of heroes...

[Puff Hunter]

"Oh crap," Hack says. "Did we just steal that baby from the future? I f***ing hate time travel. But I guess it needs to happen, so the new Voidbringer can pick up where the old one left off." He turns to Steve and Blossom. "You know you can't change the kid's destiny, right? All you can do is raise her to be less aggressive, so we don't have to do... this... again. Light and shadow need each other to exist. It's only when either one gets out of control that faces need to be stabbed." He looks at the Lord of Light. "That goes for you too, buddy. You get too big for your britches, decide to break the cycle of creation and destruction,..." Hack narrows his eyes. "I'm coming for you. Comprende?"

The Master looks at the group. "It is not my position to interfere with the cycle of creation and destruction. The child you hold in your arms is Blackheart. She is the daughter of Black and Dark Bubbles, and the one destined to take Jazenok Blackskull the Voidbringer's place."

The Master casts Mighty Heal

With a wave of his hand, the injuries sustained by everyone in the Black Void are healed, and everyone sits up feeling just fine again!

"Return to your homes everyone." He says, looking at the still distraught Penny Less, placing a hand on her shoulder. "You have done very well. Your kind heart and incorruptible soul have brought about a time of great prosperity for many worlds. Black and the Dark Powerpuff Girls will still hold control over the Black Void until Blackheart is old enough to understand her powers and her purpose in life, but until then the Black Void and its denizens will cease to be a threat to anyone."

Penny looks up at the Master. "You... you're the one who sent Angel to me... aren't you?"

The Lord of Light nods. "You will continue to look after my daughter won't you?" He asks her, to which Penny nods with a smile.

"Everyone gather around!" Mojo shouts, preparing to activate his device. "We are all going to return home now, for I have seen enough of this place of nightmares and illusions, and would prefer to return to Townsville, where the Powerpuff Girls that fight me there are not as brutal or as ruthless or as insane as the ones from here!"

"You cannot take Blackheart with you." King Signas' spirit speaks up. "Her destiny has already been decided for her here in the Black Void. She has her own journey to go on when she is old enough, one where she will choose her own destiny."

"Remember, Blackheart is the granddaughter of the one you know as 'Him'." The Master says to the group. "Her blue eye represents the dark side reflected in her parents and her grandfather, but this one..." he pauses, pointing at the scarlet Powerpuff eye. "...hard as it may seem to believe, represents the dominant side of her personality, which is docile, friendly, and caring of other people. This part of her must be allowed to develop, which can only happen here under the care of her nanny, the adult Princess Morbucks."

Mojo Jojo looks at the baby and shudders at the sight of it. "I do not have the energy to bring anyone but the ones who came with me into the Black Void to begin with, which is a relief, as the mere sight of that baby give me the creeps! I would personally have refused to take it along even if I could or you wanted me to, which is to say I would leave it here regardless of any decision anyone else makes!"

Blossom reluctantly places the baby Blackheart down on the pale green floor of the Black Void and joins the others as Mojo Jojo activates the device that will take him and everyone else out of the Black Void back to Townsville.

Despite being healed, Timo was still unconcious and his diamond was now nearly all red.

Bubbles picked Timo up and carried him to the others just before Mojo activates the machine.

Steve is the first one to notice Timo's condition. "Why is he still unconcious?"

Blossom then notices the diamond. "Because of that, Steve. He's losing the battle."

"But we all just got healed completely." Steve said. "Are you saying no amount of heal will fix his state?"

Blossom was quiet for a moment, looking at the Lord of Light. When the portal back to Townsville opened she said: "That's exactly what Timo said after he woke up after that battle."

Bubbles was about to cry as she looked at Timo. "... Timo, please. Come back."

"We don't have time for this." Buttercup said. "The portal's open. Let's continue this when we're back home."

They all went through the portal after that.

'Home', Steve thought as he got out of the portal at Mojo's lab. The town seemed very peaceful. Suddenly he had trouble standing and made it to a chair.
'He hasn't cured this either', he commented. Blossom followed him over to the chair and he reached in his pocket and drank another before Blossom could stop him.
'We've won. What do you want another for?', she asked him.
'Best to make sure', he replied. Blossom didn't argue. The rest were looking round, Bubbles looking at Timo. Hack for once didn't have his gun up.
'You've won then', Imposter asked.
'Yes. But the things we saw...'. Even Mojo let a sentence trail off.
'What about Timo', Bubbles asked.
'I'm not sure', Buttercup replied.
'Well, our lab maybe. Steve said that he would be OK and he hates to lose a battle like that', Blossom commented.
'Well, it's either that or a trip to Wonder. Try that healer?', Steve wondered out loud. Actually, ideas formed in his mind. The Professor had a Dream-o-Meter. Last used with the mayor one night, years ago, it would allow him to see what was going on in Timo's mind. It also made it possible to send someone in to help him....

[Puff Hunter]

"Whatever you want to do about that guy," Hack says, "you'll do it without me. My work here is done. The world is safe -- for now. Which means I can go back to... well, it's nothing heroes like yourselves need to hear about. So I guess this is goodbye. Common courtesy would compel me to say it's been an honor and a pleasure to work with you, but I can't lie in good conscience. Frankly, you could all drop dead tomorrow and it would not bother me in the slightest. That said, I'll take my leave. Pray we don't meet again, since I'll only step out of the shadows under equally dire circumstances."

Hack starts to float away, then turns around. "Oh, Mojo. Take these." He drops his weapons: the guns, the ammo, the grenades, the knife. "Some souvenirs, compliments of the boys at Fort McCracken. Now I can go." He continues floating to the door.

"Hmm, not a bad arsenal this guy has." Imposter says, looking over Hack weapons. "Lotta nice stuff. Shall I put it in the armory?"

"Yes yes go ahead." Mojo says, smiling at the Powerpuff Girls. "You should probably head back to see Professor Utonium to deal with your friend's condition before he goes on the warpath in my observatory or something, for I will not tolerate having my laboratory wrecked again now that the fighting is over and does not have to continue here." Mojo turns away, swinging his cape over his shoulder. "Do not think this changes anything! I, Mojo Jojo, only agreed to help defeat Jazenok Blackskull the Voidbringer, not turn over a new leaf! Now that I have played a role, however minor it may have been, in the fall of the lord of the Black Void, there is no one in Townsville, or the entire planet, who can argue that Mojo Jojo is the most powerful and feared supervillain in the world! The next time you see me Powerpuff Girls, you will kneel before me as the ruler of the world!"

"Heh, fat chance of that." Buttercup says under her breath, smirking at Mojo as he laughs and walks off in triumph.

Stripes watches Mojo walk off and snickers, opening a portal back to Rainbowland. "I'm going home. Did you need a ride back Blazer?"

"I'm going to stick around and help the girls with Timo first." Blazer answers him. "Tell Amanda I'll meet up with her once I finish up here."

Stripes nods with a smile and disappears. It doesn't take long for Steve, Blazer, and the Powerpuff Girls to carry Timo to the Professor, who listens to Steve's plan to use the Dream-o-Meter.

"It certainly is a good plan, but which one of you wishes to go in and help him?" The Professor asks as he prepares the machine for use.

"I'll do it." Bubbles says. "I'm not afraid of what's going on inside his mind; I'll go through anything to save Timo!"

'What risks are there?', Steve asks. He is not sure how the thing works.
'There are risks, but we can pull them out and stop this at a moment's notice', The Professor said. He had the thing set up and they laid Timo on it. Blossom put a solution of Chemical X into Timo's arm as Steve and Professor Utonium set the various probes in place. Steve wired up two extra monitors and they had a look at what was happening in Timo's mind. He was busy grappling with Dark Timo in his mind. The pulse and blood pressure were up somwhat.
'Are you sure you want to do this', Blossom asked Bubbles. Bubbles looked round at everyone and said that she was.
Steve linked her up to the machine and gave her something to help her sleep. She drifted off and reappeared on the screen before him, where she started to help Timo with Dark Timo.
On the outside, they watched on the screens.
'Look', Buttercup said. 'His red eye seems a bit less red.
'So it does', Blossom said, as Blossom and Steve held hands to support each other.
'Pulse and blood pressure are stable', Steve stated. The pulse seems to have dropped, but the blood pressure is still high, A hundred and ten over Ninety. High but OK.'
'They seem to be winning the battle, but it'll take time.' Angel observed.
'I'll stay with them', Blossom told the group.
'Me too', Steve added. 'Medical Support. Everybody get some rest. I'll shout if we need anyone'.
Blossom was pleased, as holding that baby had woken feelings in her that she really needed to talk to Steve about. She hoped he would say 'Yes'. Steve, meanwhile, had wanted to talk to Blossom about the same thing. He had noticed it too and was similarly affected. He hoped that Blossom would say 'Yes'. They both knew that now was perhaps the best time, but they wanted to chat in private about it.
'We'll get some food', said Buttercup. 'Are you three staying for now?'
They all nodded.
It was a brief conversation that Blossom and Steve had, followed by a long cuddle. Meanwhile, the red eye looked a little less red. Bubbles and Timo were winning....

Dark Timo suddenly retreated from the battle, disappearing to the shadows, making Timo's mind quiet down. Timo turned to see Bubbles.

"Why did you come here?" Timo asked in a very serious voice.

Bubbles was taken aback by Timo's voice. "I... I wanted to help you since you were losing. Your diamond was almost fully red before I came here.

Outside, it truly did look like the red area in the diamond was fading a little.

"By coming here you played right into Dark Timo's hands." Timo said. "He knew you would come."

Timo's voice was beginning to put fear in Bubbles' heart and she was about to cry. "Why are you like that? I come here to rescue you, to stop Dark Timo from winning and you don't even say 'thanks.' What's happened to you? You've never behaved like that towards me."

Timo flew towards Bubbles and touched both her cheeks gently. "Because I don't want you to die. You were the last person I wished to have come here. I really didn't want anyone to die because I'm this weak. So weak to fight him."

They both stayed quiet as the sounds shadows surrounded them.

"What's done is done, Timo." Bubbles said. "So how are we going beat him?"

"We can't destroy him in any way." Timo said. "Not without killing me in the process so the only hope we have is to seal him away."

"But the seal was broken."

"There is still a way to use that seal: rebuild it."

"Rebuild it? How?"

Timo pointed at his stripe where the diamond was. "Why do you think the diamond is changing into red in the first place?"

"Are you saying the seal is just like your diamond?" Bubbles asked, realizing what Timo meant.

"It's more like a crystal here. A huge ice crystal."

"So where is it?" Bubbles asked, looking around.

Right then, the very little blue area from Timo's diamond shone a weak light, making the area look a lot like Black Void itself. At a distance, another blue light shone.

Timo pointed at the light. "That way." He then looked at Bubbles. "But, Bubbles, I really do wish you'd leave before Dark Timo does something evil again. I don't want that kind of thing happening again." He was referring to the last battle with Dark Timo.

Bubbles hugged Timo. "Stupid. I knew that was a risk when I decided to come here."

Timo hugged back.

"Now what say you and me go and end this whole thing before he comes back?" Bubbles asked.

After a few seconds, Timo broke the hug. "Okay then, Bubbles. Let's go."

'They've found each other and are working together', Blossom observed. Steve was getting another bag ready to put into Timo's arm via the drip. He looked up at the monitors.
'Hmm. That must be good news', Steve replied. He passed Blossom the latest bag of fluids. He looked at the readings for the two 'patients'. Bubbles was OK, Timo's was still high. He sat back down again. 'I don't think Bubbles needs anything. What do you reckon?'
Blossom looked at the screens and readings.
'I don't at the moment', she told him. 'This waiting is driving me nuts though'.

As Bubbles and Timo continued to fly towards the blue light, Timo was looking around.

"Something's not right." he said.

"What's wrong?" Bubbles wondered.

"Dark Timo is unusually inactive. He knows we're coming, but he hasn't done anything."

"Maybe he's waiting for us at the seal?" Bubbles said.

"It's possible in which case we're going right into a trap."

As Bubbles then looked around she finally asked one thing: "Why does your mind look a lot like the Black Void?"

"I don't know. Dark Timo likes dark so maybe he changed this are to his liking."

"There's more to it than that, Timo."

That sudden voice made both of them look around.

"Where are you, Dark Timo?" Timo yelled.

"Everywhere as usual. Here let me show you."

Both Timo and Bubbles felt a sudden wave passing through them and immediately Timo was wrapped in a sphere. Bubbles was okay, however.

"Bubbles, r...!" Timo tried to yell, but right then the sphere strated to emit lightnings, electrocuting Timo. Timo was wincing from the pain.

"TIMO!" Bubbles gasped.

Outside, the monitors were going critical.

'What's happened'. Steve was watching on the monitors. Blossom was busy attaching a new bottile to his arm. She looked at the monitors and saw what was happening. She pressed the Alert button as Steve shouted for help. The room was full of people in an instant.
'We're going to have to send another person in there.', Blossom told them. 'Timo appears to be trapped by his evil twin.'
'I'll go'.First response was from Buttercup. She got onto another bed and The Professor wired her up. Steve gave her the same sleeping draft that he gave to Bubbles, and soon she was away. Blossom finished attaching the bag to Timo.
Penny spoke up. 'The light of Divinity? Could this be a smaller version of the battle we've just fought?'
'Could be', Steve commented. 'Look on the screens there, see if you can see it.'
They all did. There was one more bed and one more terminal. Angel spoke up. 'Can you make more?'
'The Professor and Steve thought about it. 'It'll take time', The Professor said.
'Get on with it them', Blossom ordered them. 'I'll look after things here.'
'And I'll go in too', Penny offered. Steve wasted no time in wiring her up for this. He gave her the same draft and in she went.
Blossom monitored the situation while The Professor and Steve got more beds and wired up more headsets.....

Timo's body was tensing up and the expression showed great pain.

Buttercup attacks Dark Sphere
Attack: Laser Eyebeam
Defense: None

In his mind, Buttercup arrived at the scene and immediately she used laser eyebeam at the sphere, causing it to crack up.

"Come on, Bubbles!" Buttercup yelled. "Let's attack together!"

Bubbles and Buttercup join forces against Dark Sphere
Attack: Laser Eyebeam
Defense: None

Bubbles snapped out of the surprise attack and attacked the Dark Sphere with Buttercup by also using laser eyebeam. The Dark Sphere breaks and shatters, dropping Timo on the ground.

Bubbles went to Timo. "Timo, are you all right?"

Timo was coughing, holding his chest. "My chest hurts."

Outside it looked like blood was coming from Timo's mouth.

"Everything alright here?"

Bubbles, Buttercup and Timo turned to see Penny next to them.

"Penny?" Timo wondered. "What are you doing here?"

"I couldn't just stand and watch you suffering like that." Penny said.

"And Angel agreed to let you go?" Timo asked.

"Well, she didn't try to stop me in any way." Penny said.

"Can you continue, Timo?" Buttercup asked.

"I think so." Timo said as he stood up. The light blue light continued to shine. "We're near the seal now so keep your eyes opened."

They hardly even continued a few meters before they all heard Dark Timo's voice, laughing.

"Your friends can't really help you in here, Timo. I rule in this area."

'Steve, there's blood coming from Timo'. Blossom shouted. Steve told the Professor to carry on with the headsets and ran over. There was indeed blood coming from Timo's mouth. The monitors showed that Timo was alright for now, but how long for was anybody's guess, The signs were stable. He looked at the others and they were too.
'Angel, can you make a portal to The Silver Castle in Wonder', Steve said.
'Yes. Why do you ask?', Angel replied.
'They have a healer there. Maybe he can do something?'. Blossom asked it more as a question. 'We can't do anything out here', she added.
'I can do healing', Angel interjected.
'Yes, but we might need you inside'. Blazer nodded to the apparatus and the girls before them.
Angel and Stripes made a healing halo around Timo and a portal appeared to the Silver Castle. Steve and Blossom stepped into it...

...and out in the Throne Room at the Silver Castle. Felicia was surprised to see them. They told her the situation and she sent for the healer. Then she made a portal back and the four of them stepped out in the laboratory again.
'Two headsets ready', The professor said, looking at the new arrivals.
Felicia and The Healer looked at the situation before them. He took over the healing halo allowing Angel and Blossom to go in. Then a third was ready, and Steve followed.

When they were inside, they seemed to be in another black void. With what appeared to be another Timo standing before them. A black figure, totally evil.
'What do you three want? The same as your friends?', he laughed.
'No. We want to put Jack back into his box', Steve answered.
'The easy way... or the hard way', Blossom added.

Penny looks around as they continue towards the seal. "This is too strange. Why would Dark Timo change your mind into Black Void?"

"Well, he is just a shadow of me." Timo said. "He doesn't have any real form of his own, but he usually shows up in powerpuff form with no face, no nothing. Just with his two red eyes."

Bubbles, Buttercup, Penny and Timo finally reach the seal. The seal is mostly broken up and the pieces lie on the ground.

"There it is." Timo said.

"Not much to look at." Buttercup said. "Only the bottom part is intact."

"And there are so many pieces on the ground." Penny said. "This seal is actually huge."

"The current condition reflects on me." Timo said. "When the seal breaks up completely, Dark Timo can do whatever he wants with me... and everyone else."

Bubbles picked up a piece from the ground. "So it's like a huge puzzle then? If we put all of the pieces back together, the seal will work again?"

"It should." Timo said. "But even after it's finished, we still have to imprison Dark Timo back in there." He then looked around. "Speaking of which, why hasn't he already appeared or done something?"
